APNS registration fail on Message+ - iPhone 12 Pro Max

When using the Message + app on my iPhone 12 Pro Max, I get the APNS Registration Fail message. I am able to use the app by pressing OK. I would like to stop the error message from appearing. Some advise uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but my concern is whether I will get all my messages back when reinstalling?

I looked in the Settings area, but there is no option to back up the messages, or restore them once reinstalling for an iPhone. Can anyone provide some advice/direction? Thanks!

Uninstall it and just use the default texting app the phone came with.
