I got the 9 dollar one...figure I can just call and change it later once I figure out what it is.
I wouldn't get it, Its $10 a month and a $200 deductible, screw that, there are other cheaper programs with cheap deductibles like Squaretrade

$200 is a bit steep, i had Asurion when i broke my droid inc and it was A $80 deductible. $80 max is what they charge for smart phones.
Basically, it covers lost/stolen phones.
Ditto. I would like to know if it covers accidents (screen breaks, spills, etc), along with theft/loss. For such a high price per month and high deductable price; $169 I think I read. I'd like to know it will have full coverage. If not I will look for a warranty else where and cancel this one.
These "cell phone" insurance plans are a huge, huge ripoff. You can add your cell phone to your homeowners/renters policy for around $1.20/$100/year. Just be sure and add it for the "replacement value" and not what you paid for it. (ie if you got it for $199, but needed to replace it in 6 months because you dropped it in a lake, the replacement value would be $700)...
Basically you're paying your insurance company a bit more for "all risk", which covers pretty much anything.
Asurion covers anything that happens to your phone, including losing it, or theft. You do, however, have to pay a deductible. The Asurion agent I spoke with said that they charge an 89.99 deductible for their current top smart phones, so expect the deductible to be 89.99.
The reason AT&T's iPhone deductable is 200 is because AT&T would not let Asurio offer it for less. That is what the agent told me. So, expect Verizon's iPhone to be an 89 dollar deductible, plus tax, and it covers EVERYTHING. Kind of a rip off indeed, until you need it...
Do I have 30 days to insure my phone once I receive it?Is that pretty much standard with all the insurers? Thanks.

I am sorry but you are expecting wrong the deductable is 199 for the 32gb and 169??? didnt pay alot attention to it... I clicked on the asurion link during the order process and it was all there ...asurion has always been good but this is pure >>>>>
and for those saying add it to your home owners you should be saying call you home owners agent and ask. Mine wont. For total coverage asurion is about the only and best opition. If you dont need lost or stolen then squaretrade will be hard to beat. 100 bucks upfront and a 50 dollar dedeucable but its limited to basically replace one device...where asurion is up to 1500 so two times...

Asurion for Advanced Devices (what verizon was offering for the iPhone) covers Lost, Stolen, accidental damage, and hardware problems past warranty. $169 deductible for 16GB $199 deductible for 32GB
I got the $9.18 one but what was the higher one for? I think it was $10.99. I was trying to get the order thru so I didn't want to spend too much time pondering it since I can call and change it later.
What's the difference between this and Apple Care?
so how much is scott trade for insurance? whats their cost and deduct
from what I read, the extra $2 for total care covers accessories also, the $10 plan covers just the phone against pretty much everything
gocare.com has a $50 deductible and multiple plans, the complete package is like $100 for 1 year and an extra $70 for 2, they emailed me saying:
"""t covers accidental damage, theft, water damage and more with a $50 deductible for any claim."""
Squaretrade.com does not do theft or loss it looks like
$99 for 2 years.$50 deductible
COVERS:
Normal use issues, drops and spills(including full immersion)
I took the 1.99 extended warranty. 10 bucks a month for insurance is way too much esp when its paired with an outrageous deductible.
I dont get the $1.99 plan either, Apple will already cover that for 1 year whether you get it from Verizon or Apple.
I bought my wifes iphone at Best Buy a year ago and went to Apple when I had an issue with it rebooting because the BB geek squad are morons, they swapped the phone out with no issues or questions asked
Im canceling and going to squaretrade. They added their Verizon Iphones on there. 2 years for 100 bucks is by far worth it with only 50 dollars deductable.
Ok, if you walk into an Apple store with a broken phone, the replacement cost is $199....so why pay for insurance you may not need and ultimately end up paying that amount anyway, when you could just spend the $199 only if you need it?
No doubt it's expensive and the deductible is high, but buying an Iphone 4 with no contract will run around $600 or so on Ebay. I've had insurance on other phones, and it's saved my butt twice (lost phones, replaced with new ones), so I don't mind paying the premium for the peace of mind, especially since it doesn't make a big dent in my budget.
Keep in mind that AppleCare and SquareTrade DO NOT cover against lost or stolen devices; that's the main reason I get insurance, to protect against loss or theft.
They charge you another $170 and then send you a used (and likely) defective phone. Just look up "Asurion Class Action" on Google and you'll see what I had to go through yesterday. It's not worth it.
