Switched from a Droid X and never looking back, Droid was nice but always seemed a ittle buggy. Iphone is smooth as silk, plays nice with my Macbook and there are apps for everything (and hopefully without virus's).
Depends on what you want to do with your device really..at this point it might be worth holding out for 3-4 months and see if the Iphone 5 drops this summer

It'll drop, but it won't be for Verizon if it does come out. Next year is when you are looking.
As for Droid X and regretting the switch... Personally the iPhone has better battery life than ANY Android device I have owned. It averages 3-4 hours longer on a heavy usage day and nearly 80% longer on those light usage days(8am-10pm). There have been days where nothing goes on and by the time I come home I still have 80%+ battery life. I'd be lucky to be at 40% with any of my Androids. That's the only reason why I made the switch.

How do you know they will not get the iphone 5,a lot of people think his is one of the reasons why thet are dropping unlimited data plans,so unlless you have solid proof either way i wouldnot be so sure of this statment or any other.

Glad you posted this. My upgrade is next week and I couldn't decide between the iPhone and a Droid OS phone. I'm now convinced the iPhone is the way to go. Originally I was hesitant because of the antenna problem users were having with the iPhone, but that problem appears to have been solved. I'll get the iPhone.

Most people would have not bought the next generation if they didn't get the subsidized price. A lot of people actually moved on because they had to wait 3 months after the release of the 3G because they waited to buy the iPhone 3 months later. You really need to go to the Earlier pages of AT&T iPhone board.Personally I will stick with the 4 and wait for the 6. The 5 won't have anything over the top special. Everyone who follow the trends knows it.
Nope, if the 5 came out so be it, I KNEW going into this that it could and might, but I wanted the 4 so I got it. Tough shnikes to me if I can't afford to get the 5 because I'm not due for an upgrade. I have read and understand my contract.
If you have a Droid X, or ANY Android, these are some of the pros and cons of going to the Iphone 4. Cons-Iphone 4 is much less customizable(unless you jailbreak it). Iphone 4 has less free apps, and free ways up putting apps on your device. Iphone 4 has a subpar notification system with a subpar alerts customization ability. It also sucks not having adobe flash anymore. Oh yeah, and having to use Itunes for media management really sucks compared to being able to just drop and drag, and being able to use a memory card.
Pros-Iphone 4 has a much more unified ui/os, with smoother operation, less glitches(random reboots, force closes, etc). Also, Iphone 4 has better battery life than any Android device that I've used or seen. The Iphone also has more apps, and usually higher quality apps than android. Another great thing is, just as you can customize an Android phone by rooting, you can do many of the exact same things by jailbreaking your Iphone, but it will probably cost more.
For me, I've been team Android since the OG' Droid, but after seeing force closes, random reboots, other weird glitches, and poor battery life, with every Android phone that I've ever used, (Droid, Droid Incredible, Droid X, HTC Evo, Samsung Fascinate, Motorola Atrix, and Motorola Xoom), I had to give the Iphone 4 a shot, and it's much better than previous Iphone models in my opinion, and now, after jailbreaking it, I don't miss Android at all. Oh yeah, and for those that need occasional adobe flash for website browsing, try Puffin on Iphone. Its not the best browser, but it gets the job done to display flash web content, and sound.

As with me, but I know Apple wouldn't release the 5. It's not cost efficient. I have yet to see Apple do something like that ever. Why spend the R&D(Yes Apple did as you can see differences by design and also the hardware changes). Produce a large amount of 4's just to 3months later release the "5". At worse case AT&T no longer gets iPhones and they release of the "5" and that would mean the gap between iPhones from Europe to Verizon is shorten by 4 months. So instead of 8 month gap it's a 4 month gap. Rumors for the 5 is starting to pick up... Kinda late if you ask me. Usually the rumors pick up in October/November.
I have yet to see Apple do it with ANY of their products. Why would Verizon and the iPhone be different than any of their other products. Even the iPad 2 is differenciated which a dual mode iPhone rumor were based off of. iPad 2 isn't dual mode and it has 3 different types and the iPad 2 Verizon has supposedly the same chipset, but it doesn't have GSM tech other than the dual mode capable chipset(which doesn't make the device dual mode capable as the other hardware needed is missing).

What a great post. You have summed it up in a nutshell. Are you at all familiar with the iPhone antenna problem as reported in Consumer Reports, and if so, is it enough of a reason not to get an iPhone4 ?

Depends who you ask. My wife and I do not have this problem AT ALL, but the one thing I did notice my mother WILL have this problem. I think it's more of a biological thing than an iPhone 4 thing. Some people will have more electrical charge on their extremidies than other people. Did you know 2% of the human population can't use touch screens at all while 5% will have their touchscreen be super sensitive? Best option is to try it out in store and see if you have a problem. If you don't take it home and if it gives your problems return it. Don't hold onto it and complain about it. You have an option to get away.
I SWITCHED TO IPONE4S JUST TO TRY. IVE BEEN A HUGE DROID RAZR FAN AND LOVE THE ANDROID SYSTEM. WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THE OS7 UPGRADE ON IPHONE IS THE SCREEN RESOLUTION AND CAMERA QUALITIES. EVEN THOUGH THE SCREEN IS SMALLER I CAN READ IT EASIER. PLUS I GOT THE IPHONE FOR ONLY A 100.00 FROM A FRIEND. WORTH A TRY. THE DROID HAS SOME FEATURES THAT THE IPHONE DID NOT HAVE SO IN COMES THE I0S7 SOFTWARE UPDATE WHICH BRIDGED THAT GAP. STILL LOVE DROID THO AND WILL PROBABLY SWITCH BACK AND FORTH OVER THE NEXT TWO YEARS. JUST KINDA HOW I ROLL...
