Block spyware on IPhone - HELP

I recently broke up with my boyfriend and somehow he is seeing everything on my iphone plus hearing my conversations.

I got a totally new phone, changed my phone number, somehow he was able to get that new number, and he is still able to see my text messages and hear my phone conversations. Does anyone know of any software that I could put on my phone so he cant see see my messages and hear my conversations.

He lives in about 300 miles from me and has no access to my physical phone.

This is not possible. There is no possible way for anybody to have this level of access to your iphone in the manner you describe unless you have a jailbroken iPhone with some 'specialized' software on it (of which may be out there, but I'm not familiar with any that would have this level of access and YOU would have to install it on your phone before anybody else could make use of it).

And a brand new phone is not going to have anything remotely like that available on it. I would suggest that you're being misled and perhaps supposed confidents (as in friends you supposedly trust) are giving him information second hand as opposed to him actually monitoring your conversations and messages directly via the iPhone. So relax... he's not as talented as he thinks he is!

As the other poster said, this is impossible. Unless he has bugged your house and everywhere else you possibly use your phone at with cameras and microphones, he can't see the content of your texts or hear your phone conversations. It is most likely your friends or family who are giving him this information. He is not that talented, as the other poster said! Don't give him that much credit :smileywink: He sounds like a freak if he's even thinking about doing any of this. I would get a restraining order and block his number right away, and tell your "friends" or whoever you're communicating with on your iPhone to stop relaying information to him.

Is he claiming to do this or are you inferring it from other things? He would be breaking numerous federal and state laws.

As dbbrass says, it seems unlikely that it is possible for a normal individual to bug a brand-new phone remotely so it might be "friends" feeding back information, as he suggests. It's certainly possible that technology like this exists in specialised groups (certain Federal agencies, Russian FSB, UK GCHQ for example, and probably some criminal enterprises) but hopefully your ex wasn't working for those kinds of organizations!

Other more remote possibilities, he left a bug in your house rather than your phone, so can hear certain converstations (not texts though), Is he like that and would he have the knowledge?

So, depending on what you think his reaction would be, you could always report his claim or threaten to do so.

However, if he is really into stalking you, threatning him might not be the safest thing, but then in any case you need to get his behavior to the attention of law enforcement.

you have a new iphone, in theory that rules out a person jailbrakeing your phone and introducing something onto the device which i will elaborate on in a moment.

from the technical perspective, I would change my passwords on all of my accounts, email, facebook, twitter anything and everything......as a start point, I would then create a new userid and password combination across the board for each and every online presence that i use (getting rid of the old ones basically)..... why, the individual may have your user ids and passwords and maybe lurking that way.

As for google latitude and other shaired location social awareness software, i would turn the broadcast location or shared locations off immediately - just incase the person is on a shared friends list somewhere.... since u are changing your user id and password (new accounts) be careful with stuff like that in the future.

As for your computer, you may want to rebuild your computer from the top just in case the person installed some software to monitor what you do remotely a example of this would be a product called webwatcher

Was the person, friends with any of your friends, information gets shared that way....too

As for other devices, I am aware of ways where some on could introduce text backup software which gets texts sent to a email address or to be viewed on line....but that would be based on your phone, userid and password combination and a device wipe or reset of software (setting the phone into factory out of box condition) would get rid of those applications

However, the person knowing you could be fishing or probing you based on knowing you so well.....that included with friends speaking with them, could make something seem to be there when its not......

if the person, is repeating precise quotes from texts, emails, google voice, google latitiude and social sites... the password change and new accounts should help (identifiy who you said that too in your texts, emails or on which global social site)

I would fill out a police report as someone suggests i beleve in early posts.

Why do i say these things, my daughter and a couple of friends were being stalked once (so i have first hand experience)

with insanity of this nature. Its not fun..... also, stickam and other sites like that where people can capture video talk should be kept away from.

bottom line:

get a new phone/phone number (as you said you did)

change all passwords immediatly

turn off all social based location software - google latitiude

create new accounts for all the things you do (email, facebook..etc)

delete the old accounts

Keep away from all video based messaging sites with recording options (stickam and other)

control who you allow as a friend (5000 friends on facebook when you only speak to 10-20 friends is a potential risk)

keep your personal location to a minimum of people

tell the person not to contact you in any manner shape forum (record it, if you need to) block them, get parents involved to help you and make a police report

These posts have all had good advice in them. As they said, what he says he is doing is not possible without lots of help.

My guess is someone who was a mutual friend when you were together is feeding him info. If you have an idea who, in your group of friends it might be, send a text to one with something specific in it.... such as "I talked to my dad about the muffler on my car" send something to friend #2 something similar like "I talked to my dad about the wipers on my car" .... friend #3 about the tires on my car, and so on. Then if your ex-boyfriend lets you know about the text concerning your cars wipers, you will then know where the leak is....

It's very scary because I don't have any idea who could be feeding this information to him.... He hasn't bugged my house because I live a couple of states away...

It's just kind of weird because he seems to be getting into my contact info also.... But I started changing my passwords... .

Are you ABSOLUTELY sure there is no way to get into my cell phone without physically getting on the phone?

One of your friends could be the culprit if you got the new phone and number since the point of no contact with him. A "friend" or someone working on behalf of your ex only has to have access to you phone for a minute or so (maybe while you are in the bathroom, etc.), access your browser and install an app that was preloaded via the web (see www.webwatcher.com). This would give access to all of your emails, texts, browser searches, etc. However, it does not give access to voice conversations.

I would set a trap as suggested by another user that replied to your inquiry.
