iPhone XR. Calls skipping and breaking up. Seems to happen the most when from Verizon to Verizon. How do I troubleshoot this???

what can be done. The other day I was making a business call and I could hear them perfectly, but they could bearly understand me so they hung up and finally got them to hear me from my house.
