Can I schedule a pick up at UPS?

My phone is set to be delivered tomorrow Btwn 130-530 and there is a good chunk of time during the 4 hr window I was given that no one will be home.

I dont have any of my close neighbors that I kmow will be home to ask them to sign for it.

So im not sure if I shld just let it ship and hope someone is home not if I shld have it sent to the ups facility to pick it up there.

My my only problem is if I send it to the facility how will the delivery time differ from what I was originally given. If it's delivered I'll be able to use my lunch hr to pick it up. But have to be home by 6 for my sons football game

im so torn on what I shld do.... Has anyone done this and can provide some insight.

Incase anyone else had this question I wanted to post an update.

So I created a ups account yesterday which allows me to track and redirect packages either to a UPS facility or a neighbor For free. It does however state that depending on where the package is at in the process it may not be able to accept your request

my package was comming from pa and I live in md. I made the request last night at 1130. The package had left pa but not yet arrived in md. I just got an email that my package is already at the facility ready for pickup.

Smh. Keep cool my friend it's just a phone. If no one is there to sign it goes back to the facility. Just call them and tell ups not to redeliver and go pick it up over there. Hope this helps. Been there done this.

Smh.... Really I was just asking for advice not an attitude.

I understand and how shipping packages works.... Its not the first package I have had shipped to my house. I am more familiar with fedex as that's how most of my packages are usually shipped.

I like most people am excited to get my phone .... And I'm sure like most people dont want to wait an extra day if I don't have to

If you are able to have it kept at the facility prior to their first delivery attemp (this sometimes isn't an option unless you contact Verizon and ask them to authorize it) then they will tell you when it's available for pickup. But it may be too late to request that now. If you miss the delivery attempt call the number on the door tag and let them know you want to come pick it up. If you're trying to do it on the same day then it won't be until the trucks come back in for the evening (usually 7:30 pm) and you usually only have until 8:00 or 8:30 to pick it up. if that's not doable then you can ask them to hold it for pickup the next day.

I also have a free UPS account and have had to do this before. It is better than the other option, which is to leave a singed note at the door. I've done this with FedEx where I will print my name and mention I have a package froming from VZW and to please leave it by my door. I'll then sign it. Good luck!

No attitude here shadow. Just trying to lighten things up here with everyone. Sometimes the words you see on the screen come out wrong. alot of us are getting frustrated with Verizon. It seems they are the only ones who are not getting these phones in. I truly hope you get your phone soon and get to enjoy the new perks it has.

I missed my delivery and called UPS (already had an account set up) and asked if I could pick up my package this evening after the truck returns, I was informed Verizon was not allowing it. Verizon was not allowing any changes to delivers, which is new because last year I did pick it up from UPS.
