Several people told me that when I call them (if I am not already in their contacts) that my phone number comes up with someone else's name. Experian has informed me that this person - same name - in NJ is using my mobile number on applications, forms, websites. I've tried to report this to Verizon and even sat on hold for 72 minutes trying to speak to Verizon Tech Services but am getting no where. Any advice would be appreciated. I cannot understand how VERIZON has allowed someone else to get themselves connected with a number I have literally had for Decades!

I got two political texts, today and yesterday that were addressed to a different person (same name on both). I looked up my phone number on a background check website, and it is associated to this same other person. My name did not even show up, and I've had this number since 2014! Haven't called Verizon, but I'm thinking about changing my phone number (dreading the hassle of changing it on everything, though.) I made the mistake of adding my phone number to my Yahoo account last year, and got a bunch of calls meant for different people after that. My dad said Yahoo will sell your phone number. I have since removed it, but wondering if that is connected to my current issue.

Hey there! The good news is, you can change what is broadcast on your CallerID. Try this link: https://www.verizon.com/support/share-name-id-faqs/
