i have recently placed an order, like 5 days ago. If you pre-ordered recently with an expected ship date of 10/26, have you received your phone yet? is that date their estimate, and some people could get theirs earlier?

You probably wont get itll the 26th, or maybe a few days before, i ordered mine the 18th and my expected ship date was by the 5th which is tomarrow, i bearly got charged for the phone yesterday and got shipping confermation and il be getting mine tomarrow exactly on the 5th like it said.

Ordered 2 iPhone 5 in Verizon retail store on 18th. They billed me the same day and still no shipping info.
@tofj i heard that ratail stores are lagging on the shipping more than online orders. i know people that preordered the first day for the iphone and still havnt got comfermation on shipping at all just a delay email on it.

It's neithers Verizon or AT&T's fault, it is Apple fault for not having the amount of phones to give, they knew they were going to sell millions, i have they wanted to take the risk and make a few millions.
what ever carrier you switch you will tell you the same. Verizon has to wait for apple to deliver the iPhones to their warehouse

I had shipdate of Oct 26th..... so I called around to local stores today and found out our Sam's Club had three left of the black 16 gb (I ordered white) so I went and cancelled my pre order and went to Sam's walking out with one in my hand Now just waiting for my SIM card to "age" LOL
I pre ordered mine on the 16th of September, a 16GB white...originally was gonna ship by Oct 5th, now it's been pushed back to October 26th. I am seriously angry right now. Called Verizon Wireless, they told me to call Apple b/c it's out of their grasp, called Apple, Apple says it's not their problem if the carrier doesn't have enough iphones. 0_o

Sounds like something may be wrong with your order. My date has always been 10/12 and still hasnt changed. I ordered the same iphone as you on 9/20

No joke. I would try calling verizon again. Your order should not just get pushed back for no reason. Might have something to do with your CC.

Ah no. I preordered my phone Sept. 14th had a Oct. 5th delivery date. after my card STILL wasn't charged on Wed. the 3rd i called. even though i got a confirmation # they had completely lost my order. I had to reorder my phone again. I won't get it till MAybe the 26th. I'm Pissed!
I didn't even pre-order my iPhone. I ordered it from Verizon's website on Sept. 27 with a ship date of Oct. 26. I wasn't even expecting it to ship before then, but I received an email on Oct. 10 saying it had shipped. I received my iPhone 5 in the mail today! I guess I just got lucky. :smileyhappy:

My card was charged 10/10. It's a pre-authorization hold right now, so it will show up on my bank statement tomorrow, 10/13.
Yeah i ordered mine on the 4th had a ship by date of the 26th. My card was charged yesterday afternoon and i got a delivery date of tuesday. I know i ordered mine online. What i was told is that who gets them first, or those shipped early have nothing to do with were you live. It has to do with the demand for the specific phone you ordered. I got a 64gb white. So i'm getting mine because there were less orderer, and more availblility for my phone at an earlier time.There was ALOT of orders placed for the 16gb phones so if thats what you ordered unfortunately it maybe the 26th before it ships.
I did also find out that they charge the card when they pull your order package for shipping. So just watch for the charge to come out.
i ordered a 32gb and had a 10/26 date and i am slated (per fedex tracking) to get it on 10/16....you should get it slightly earlier than the 10/26 estimate.
I ordered the iPhone 5 white in 16 gb on Sept. 30 and got a ship date for Oct. 26. So, I am still waiting. I am thinking of changing my preorder for a 32 gb as I might get it earlier??

i just ordered mine on Wed. the 10th with a ship date by 10/26 and the charge is now pending in my account for tomorrow. So I'm pretty sure I will be getting mine much sooner than the 26th.

I ordered mine on 9/27. I have not been charged and have not seen ANY activity on the order. Just says expected ship date is 10/26. I too wonder if we'll get them sooner than that or if it will be later. Since 10/26 is a Friday, I guess we may not get our phones until 10/30 maybe??
no you will get your phone by 10/26 if it comes on time they ship overnight or two days prior to the ship date so either way you will receive it on 10/26

if you want your iphone now, cancel order and call local verizon. they most likely have 32GB available, if u really want 16GB then wait and dont cancel.
I'll need to wait...don't want to spend the extra $$ for more space. It is what it is I suppose. It seems that some people on here have received their phones sooner than the expected date so MAYBE I'll get lucky too.
I'm about to do a happy dance folks. I ordered a black 64gb iphone 5 on Oct 15 and they just charged my credit card for it today, Oct 19. The status also changed to reflect a place for a tracking number to be entered. Hopefully they will ship soon!

I'm in the same boat as Guitar_banae. Ordered my 32 gig on the 17th and now the order status for me has also changed to show where the tracking numbered would be entered and a slot for the Courier as well.
How long before it went from pending to actually charged? I woke up this morning and the status said "Payment not taken" and the delivery date was pushed from 10/26 to 11/09! So a call was made and turned out to be a card expiration date issue, got it changed and now there's a pending charge on the account but my tracking still says the payment was taken and now the estimated delivery says "not available." Now I'm hopeful since there's a pending charge that this is a sign of progress, but I'm curious how long it sat at the pending stage. Thanks for any feedback, because my heart shattered this morning seeing it would be over a month until I saw my phone!

NYC12 -- 9/27. Today is the first notice of any sign of movement toward shipment. My bank has a pending status of the full amount and on VZW order status there's a place for a tracking number. However, the status still states the my order will "ship by" 10/26. Still curious what others experienced when all of the above happened to them? 2 more days? 3 more days?came on ship date? came after ship date?
Got my shipment email at 5:25pm, its coming by fedex and I will be getting it on Tuesday the 23rd. So cant wait!!
Ordered a 16gb in black on October 1, 2012 from Verizon. Nothing has changed in the status, so I'm expecting it by the 26th of October. It's worth the wait.

I ordered a 16gb white on the the 30th of sept. I check almost every day with no change. Still says we have received your order and it's still processing. This is torture. I have seen other people who have ordered after me get theirs early.

Ordered 64GB black on 18 Oct. Hold placed on my card on 19 Oct. Received email today that it was picked up in PA on 21 Oct. FedEx shows delivery by 24 Oct at 4:30pm. If it wasn't over a weekend, I might have gotten it in only 2 days after it was ordered. Definitely seems that the higher memory options are readily available. I'd also think that the black ones are less in demand because of the scratching issue. I have to have black though. Good luck.

I order on September 29 with an estimated ship date of 10/26 and my card got a prior authorization today this afternoon. The status on Verizon now has a little box, but no tracking info is displayed yet. I also have not received any email from Verizon as of yet. I am hoping it will ship tomorrow. I order two 16gb White and one 16gb Black.
Just letting everyone know that I was in the group to get my iPhone 32 gig on the 26th as well. I ordered mine on the 17th and I received it yesterday the 10/23. Hope all you guys soon get yours too!!
Has anyone noticed that they say "ship by 10/26?" I called VW yesterday to ask about that and the rude CS rep told me it means ship on 10/26. I said..."noooo", ship by means before the 26th. So when he responded back to me with a snotty attitude, "Is there anything else I can do for you?" I told him a song and a dance would be nice. Then I hung up.
Anyway, I called back at 11 am EST and they told me it still hasn't shipped but would this afternoon.
Well it is 2:30, it still hasn't shipped and my credit card still hasn't been charged.
Bad customer service.
