Hi, I'm in Puerto Rico and can text, but can't call out; I can receive calls, though. I come here a lot, and have not had this problem before. What's up?

Kathi131,
That is so odd! Let's get this working for you. What model phone do you use? How long has this been going on?

Kathi131,
We want you to make those phone calls. What type of error message are you getting while making phone calls? Are you trying to call someone back in the US? Or someone in Puerto Rico?

I have called both, people here with me and people at home in Maryland. I get a rapid busy signal. My friend with ATT is able to use her phone.

Kathi131,
Let's get you in touch with everyone. Please make sure that you are dialing 1 then Area Code then the 7-digit U.S. number. If you continue to have issues you would need to reach out to our Global Support team free of charge here http://vz.to/17KseUf.

Kathi, I finally got this fixed; I disabled "family plan" and that did it.

It says "Please enter the 10 digit phone number you are trying to reach; don't use *69, etc."
I'm trying to call back home; problem is I've got business calls to make.
Txs for helping,
Ben

I have a related question -- when you turn on roaming for voice and data, does it charge you extra?

We want you to be able to stay connected while so far from home, yk2621! If the line is provisioned for international services, coverage is available and roaming settings are changed on device there will be a charge for voice and data if used. Voice will not charge unless you place the call or answer an incoming call. Smartphones are considered always on devices so email and apps may sync in background without phyical use depending on device and app settings when you turn data on.
Thank you,

I am also having issues. I am in St. Barths and signed up for a global plan so my phone would work here. I cannot make calls. As soon as I dial the ten digit number it says "call ended". I can receive calls with no problems. Please help. So far the answers here solve nothing.

Hello JayBea. I regret the problems you've had dialing from St. Barthelemy. I see that you've been dialing the 10 digit number, and that you can receive calls. That's good news. What I also recommend for your outbound calls is to dial 1 before dialing the 10 digit number for calls back to the U.S., and that you dial the plus sign then the country code for St. Bartheley (590) and then the local number for local numbers.

Txs, Sandy, roaming was already active--- when I dial I get a message that says "Please enter the 10 digit phone number you are trying to reach"; my OS is 8.1.2.
What else can I try?
Txs,
Ben

Behique,
Thanks for double checking that! When you dial, are you dialling with this pattern 1 (area code)-(7 digit number) ex. 1-123-456-7890?
