nobody knows, but i suspect it won't be for a while. apple is working on a smaller, cheaper iphone with a slide out qwerty. it won't be the ip5, but more of a lower end "little brother" to the iphone.

Apple has a fairly consistent release schedule for their products so a June announcement at the WWDC is when new iPhones are announced with them going on sale about three weeks later.  Most signs are pointing to Apple using cheaper parts such as cameras and less flash memory in the next iPhone to bring down costs.

Who would want to waist their money on such a cheap phone. I can not see sacrificing the quality of the phone and cheapen it. The Iphone has been a quality phone, to cheapen it would be a major dis appointment.

Yes for AT&T. Verizon will be next year and I will put money on it. Apple isn't stupid to release a device just to pull out another device shortly there after. People need to stop bundling things together.

Wouldn't it technically make them more money to do that? I mean, people who were itching to get the iPhone on Verizon would most likely itch to get the iPhone 5 when it comes out, and would probably be willing to pay full retail price for it. It just seems to me that Apple fans are so set on having the newest Apple device that it would be a money making strategy to put out another iPhone.

Not for just ATT. For the World!

VZW is just a minnow in the sea for apple. Why go out of the way for VZW?

No. How people you think is holding out for the 5? If they were going to release a Verizon version for this year they wouldn't have sold the 4. They would have released it as the same time of the AT&T version. With all the complaints with activation during the first full weeks itbwould be worse for 2 different carriers. Making it tiered would reduce network traffic for Apple. It makes more financi sense

No one on this board or any forum for that matter will be able to answer this with any 100% factual truth...all answers would be speculation, as they always are when it comes to Apple releases. Apple does not confirm anything until a couple of weeks (and sometimes less time than that) before the official release of any new or upgraded product. History shows the probability of a new iPhone of some sort coming out around June, but no one knows what it will be (iPhone 5, a lower entry version, ???) or more importantly, which carrier will recieve it. Could be a surprise release on a different carrier all together...could just be AT&T...they may even risk upsetting a lot of recent VZ buyers and releasing it on VZ (I doubt it, but it wouldn't be the first time Apple ruffled any feathers).

Some clues that something is coming out soon would be a new iOS version for the current iPhones and iPods...this usually precedes a new device. Also, sudden and uniformed sale prices on current devices are a clue...much easier to notice with the iPods since they aren't as limited in retail locations. Before, AT&T was the only game in town...but when/if you saw a sudden price drop in the current model it was a clue that something was amist.

All of that being said, there is no sure fire way of knowing until Apple announces it. Otherwise you will continue to see the "Yes, in June" and "Not soon for us" answers...

So true! Apple purposefully makes rumors and wants the rumors cause it causes a mass hysteria lol. Anything that strokes Steve Jobs ego is what works for apple.

It will be a tiered release. Verizon will not get the next version this year. Apple doesn't release their GSM versions world wide on the same day. It's always spread apart. Verizon will be treated just like any other carrier. Their release dates for each country is all based on when the previous version was released. AT&T will get it first. Then parts of Europe and then Asian. Then finally coming to Verizon. Expect it sometime January or February. As the person above me stated why go out of their way just for Verizon.
