Joint Unlimited Account to change to family plan and add an AT&T family member and Preorder iPhone5

My husband and I are on a joint unlimited Plan. We want to switch to the family plan and then add my son who is on AT&T and still allow him to preorder the iPhone 5. When you add an account to a Plan, it makes you chose a Phone, but if the phone isn't available yet, then how can you preorder? Is Verizon going to open the site on Friday to iphone 5 orders so that adding someone from another carrier will allow one to preorder? I of course want to preorder as well which I realize can be done at the Apple site once I switch my plan with Verizon, but this won't help my son.

The online portal should allow you to upgrade and add a new line of service as long as both devices are going to the same address. If you are sending to a different address, two different transactions are needed. Please let us know if you need any assistance with ordering.
