Lost Voicemails

This just happened to me also. I had saved important messages from friends that passed away.

Sales just sold me a new phone without warning me that my saved voicemails would be lost.
All attempts to CS and the store manager were useless.

These voicemails were stored on a VW server somewhere. Servers get backed up.

They can retrieve them!!!! They just don't want to provide that service.

It's a shame and one of the biggest reasons I will never recommend VW to anyone.

VZW used to (and still may) be able to retrieve VMs and put them on a CD and ship it to you. I think it cost around $25, but that service might be worth asking about.

I've just had same rotten experience. Verizon salesperson on telephone was quick to have me make purchase of new phone and plan right there while on phone with him. He forgot to inform me that moving my wireless account out of Post-Paid and creating an account in Pre-Paid (required prepaid to buy Iphone I saw at verizon site) would mean instantly losing all my saved Voicemails and other features. Precious saved Voicemails. And new ones I didn't get chance to listen to. This resulted just from making the purchase. I haven't even activated the new phone yet, that I received two or more weeks ago. I am so angry.

But angrier now at all the Verizon customer reps, supervisors, and a manager I made contact with. They each have been emphatic to help, put me on hold, or transfer me to elsewhere... and then strangely disconnected, and not calling me back knowing my phone #. Or the "I'm sorry"...

This is 2 weeks and hours and hours on the phone trying to get help.

And all the other discussions and posts of same issue that I've read on this Forum.... It's 2018 now. Not 2011 or 2014.

Cannot believe that others will respond saying it's the customer's fault for not reading the instructions. How can one read instructions when the voicemails are robbed right at the transaction sale on telephone with Sales person? and Sales doesn't inform you.. Even if I was told to look at Instructions, it would be too late because the transaction and new Prepaid acct. alone instantly causes deletion of vm's. Remember, I haven't activated the new phone yet still. I'm waiting for someone to assist.

Also, I've carried Verizon for few decades. Not just with my cellphone, but for all home services, and even my work office. All Verizon for all these years. I could have stock in Verizon with all that money spent. And how loyal a customer could one be? AND, I was keeping the same wireless phone number. And not switching from another carrier to Verizon. How simple could it be?

I deserve my VM's, or compensation. Verizon, you really messed up and should take responsibility.

Your Salespeople should warn the customer. If I hear one more customer rep tell me "so many others have lost their VM's. Even I did. I understand how you feel..." ????!!!!

Very upset at Verizon and so sad to lose those precious VM's. They are in your system. Can you assist?
