I'd like to know how to block this junk as well. Please share. Thanks
I got another Gmail spam today seems like Verizon has no interest in address the problem prepaid anyway as we have no option to block
If the block feature isn't available for prepaid accounts and you aren't willing to switch your account to a postpaid account, then your issue really isn't Verizon Wireless' problem.
There is a reason why prepaid accounts are less expensive. They have less free features included. If you need those features switch to the account type or carrier that includes those features for your budget.
The texts I get are from a gmail address. I can't block anything coming from gmail or I wouldn't get others I need to get. These all have a bunch of consonants as the user, then @ gmail.com. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6. These started within the last few months. Didn't have an issues before that. Please give me a solution.
@baywoodepmn not sure what the solution is trying to find out myself tried few times on phone got silence and on here not seen anything beyond what others have stated
Thank you for all the details, baywoodepmn. I know it's important to only block specific messages. Here you can find all our options on how we can help you block these messages: https://www.verizon.com/support/block-numbers/ I hope this helps.
They aren't coming from numbers. They are coming from Gmail addresses. You only allow us to block 15 email addresses. Guess what, they are always different. I've had more than 15 in the past month. Get it together and give us an option to fix this.
How does one send a private message to Verizon support about this issue? I just called tech support about this and they don't know anything about the situation. Who is on top of this at Verizon???
Nobody that’s why these threads keep coming up. They claim the care but talk is cheap
@BigAl52 ,
Spam texts are a nuisance that affects all mobile carriers, and there will never be a 100% failsafe way to prevent them simply because how can you know if the person sending you a message is someone you actually know or not? The post office is unable to tell what mail you receive would be considered junk mail, so they send it all to you so that you can make that decision. With this latest spam method of using a throwaway email address to text phone numbers (all carriers have this option, Vtext is just the name for ours), you still have the same option as any other spam text to report it. Just like how Call Filter was improved through reporting spam before, reporting the email and text message will allow it to further improve. As a refresher for reporting spam texts, should anyone need it, please see #10 here: https://www.verizon.com/support/block-unblock-services-faqs/
