The earpiece quit on my iPhone 4S

My earpiece quit working and the phone was not dropped, touched with water, etc.  Suggestions??  I am not eligible to upgrade until Novermber 2014.

Oh no jrocdocshearer! Let's look into your options. Do you have insurance or a warranty on the phone? Is there anything covering the earpiece?

Do you have anything in the headset port? Please look carefully as this is usually the indication that the port thinks there is headphones in the device.
