Unlocking Phone

I bought my phone out 04/28/20 online through My Verizon App, I don’t owe anything on it.... but some reps are telling me I still can’t get it unlocked until 30 days but a few other reps I spoke with said they can go around the security policy and have it unlocked in a few days I just need to talk to the right person.... Is there a way around getting my device unlocked???? Can I get it unlocked and go to other carrier??? I have been with Verizon for over 2 almost 3 years

it depends where you are in the billing cycle before you'll see a $0 balance, then you'll be unlocked but no guarantees of taking your phone to another carrier, even with their sim card.

Phones purchased from Verizon are locked to Verizon for 60 days in order to curtail fraud. Why would you purchase a phone from Verizon just 1 day ago if you are planning to move to another provider? Why not purchase from the new provider or purchase an unlocked version of the device?
