Verizon gives no reward for long-time customers

I have been a Verizon customer for about 10 years now.  I have wanted the iPhone since the it premiered with AT&T, but have remained a loyal Verizon customer due to their excellent coverage in my area.  I would like to say shame on you Verizon for not standing by me with the loyalty I have had with you.  I would extend my existing contract 2 yrs in order to get the promo price.  I'm not looking for a "freebie", just simply a reward for being loyal to you. . .as I continue to pay for the 3 lines on my plan.

that there are alot of people wnating the iphone for reduced pricing that are still under contract.

there was very little whining for any other release.   its grown 100000X for the iphone.

and frankly people are tired of hearing it

no, i do not have a sense of entitlement.  i play by the rules.  you all seem self-righteous & judgmental.  my upgrade is not until nov, not may.  i did not know last march when i purchased the blackberry that an iphone would be coming 11 MONTHS later. . .like those rumors haven't been flying around forever.  i simply just stated that i stayed w/verizon through the launch of the iphone w/att&t with loyalty.  they simply could extend a courtesy of an early one time upgrade.  i'm not saying forever, just a limited time.  stop searching the message boards for people to attack because they express their thoughts.  i do not search your posts and reply to something i just simply don't "agree" with.  and the droid is comparable. . .hardly.

if your in a 2year contract with an access fee of 49.99 or greater,i think this is the cost, then you can upgrade at the 1 year mark for the reduced price.  you will not get your ne2 at this time though, but its an option.

verizon does not offer the option you want.  the iphone is just another phone to them.

they do have promotions at times where they offer upgrades easrly on any phone, lst summer for smartphones.

the droid 1 may not be comparable, but the droid 2, fascinate, incredible, X. are all camparable if not superior in hardware.

the screen on the fasc is, imho, clearer then an iphone.

anyway if you want to play by the rules, then you will have to wait.  its how they do business.

you always have the option of upgrading at full price

Not applicable
The Motorola Droid (1) works better than all the phones listed above. Anyway, Verizon is running a business. They have to manage their business for the long term good of the business. When you buy a phone on contract at a reduced price, you are essentially financing the balance of the cost of the phone. There would need to be some significant reason for them to let you walk away from that financial obligation.

Your situation and what you are suggesting is exactly the phrase "sense of entitlement" You feel you've been loyal to them, and you feel you are entitled to some sort of compensation on their part for said loyalty.

I don't think they need to make any exceptions for anyone. We need to learn to abide by the contracts we signed. I have been a customer for a long time too. I wait for my phones to be eligible for upgrades before I upgrade. I also just knew the iPhone was coming to Verizon so I waited even longer. We can't keep feeling this sense of entitlement everytime something new comes along. Cell phone companies lose money and go out of business (or raise their fees) when they make exceptions left and right. Just wait till May and upgrade then. Yes it sucks but that's life. Unlike what they say, rules are not meant to be broken.

So they should throw you an extra discounted phone because you've been with them for a few years? Are you going to throw them an extra 300.00 for providing you with reliable service for all those years? No? Oh, okay...so you keep up your end of the deal by paying your bill and they'll keep up their end by providing you reliable service.

This is my first post I was paying my bill looking for a way to get credit for overages and stumbled upon this message board. My friend in Ohio showed me a rewards app for  Verizon stores named TCC.  I dont know if that would help you but at least they offer loyalty rewards for their Verizon customers.  I live outside Chicago and they have stores here so I'll give them a shot, because according to the app I have 10$ waiting for me to take off a purchase.  Ill update my experience when I go get my upgrade when Iphone 5 comes out but my friend used it and she said it worked and she always goes to that store.  It was under tcc or tcc rewards in the marketplace on my droid i believe.  I dont know if theres an app for Iphone. Hope that helped?
