1. Iphone 5 coming in june. Do you want to be the guy/gal with the old and slow phone in a few months? No.
2. Hotspot who cares! I can pay $20 or less for this feature on any decent phone!
3. Have an 'old' plan? Sorry, you have to sign up for a new and more expensive plan to get this phone!
At&t looking better and better.

As far as i kow this is iphone info. Keeping people informed as ive been doing tons of research.
Ha what research you don't think the other people on here have not. I am not disagreeing with you research but the exact same thing you posted I have seeing in a hundred different articles so I am betting that the people on here have already read that on another website. All the post I have seen on here I have to say people already made up there minds and have a read the same first thing you posted. So give people better research than what they already know.

Most of us have been researching the iphone 4 from verizon and the iphone 5. If were on a forum and stick around, we all have the time and effort to stay informed. First of all, this is ALL speculation. Not one fact whatsoever. Furthermore, it is also an assumption that appe will release another iphone this summer. Things change. Situations change. Networks change. I amabout 65% sure it wont happen this summer. & IF it does, it will just be a small upgraded iphone 4. I want dual core/led screen/bigger screen/4G LTE or at least 2 of those..preferably the 4G LTE & dual core. Apple likes to learn from others mistakes and "change everything. again". Go ahead and wait. If it does come out (I hope it does) and it is 4G ect... than I will be selling my iphone 4 for about 300+ and pay 300 or less for the new one. I am not concerned at all o this one. There is a decent chance it ownt come out and be worthing upgrading so if that does happen, who will feel lame for waiting? I have been suffering with my POS droid 1 since launch day. I am so done with that phone I cant even take it. Ill be online or in line come feb 3/10. Do what you woudl like... but dont come on here telling us all your "facts" that simply aren't facts.

In 2 months, the iPhone 4 will still sell for 400+.
The iPhone 5 will have let, which is not going to be expanded until next year
Verizon JUST stated the iPhone will have the STANDARD $30 unlimited plan, which AT&T does not have.
You can get free tethering if you do something to the iPhone. Google it
If AT&T sounds better, take a walk

Agreed 100%. Trust me, if you arent going over 150mb or whatever WAS available... you dont need an iphone anyway. I go through over 2 gigis easily on my droid and i dont even like the apps that much. I will most likely go way over that on my iphone since the apps are BA!

When it comes to the iPhone 5 (or whatever they are going to call it), I don't think that Verizon is actually going to get it in July like some people are saying. I was talking to someone at the Apple Store, and they don't even think that Verizon will get it, only 4 months after they release this one; Verizon store reps that I deal with/trust don't think so either. Of course no one knows for sure, but it would not make much sense for Verizon to relase one 4 months later than this one. There will be a PR nightmare for Verizon/Apple if they do that. Of course, on the other hand, people know what they are getting into before they buy this one, and you can never stay on top of technology, etc. as it happens all the time (especially with Android devices) that people buy a new phone, and then a few months later something "bigger/badder/better" comes along. But, I don't see it happening with the iPhone, as it just would not be profitable in this case (given the circumstances for this iPhone and the subsidy, etc) for Verizon to do that. Again, just an educated guess.
And, finally, I HIGHLY doubt that the new one in July is going to be a huge upgrade anyway. I think it will be more like the 3G to 3GS upgrade. You won't see a 4G phone, or a dual core processor in the phone until 2012. Apple has historically not "jumped on" network technology when it first is released. Heck, AT&T had their 3G network up and running a while, and had 3G phones out from other carriers, when the first iPhone came out, and it was not a 3G phone. The 3G phone came the next year. Apple likes to make sure the network technology is stable/tested (well - oops on AT&T's part there as it STILL ISN'T!) before they get in the game. They also like to make sure the chipsets are better optimized, the battery performance is where it needs to be, etc. Sure, Verizon has their 4G network up and running, and a 4G phone (the HTC Thunderbolt) coming in a couple weeks probably, but AT&T still doesn't even have a "true" 4G network up . They are calling their HSPA+ a 4G network, but everyone knows that it is not! If it is, why would they even bother to use LTE later this year/early next year? So, with all that said, I don't see any way that the new iPhone in July (assuming there is one for someone) would be a 4G phone.

When the iPhone 5 comes out, we can just sell our iPhone 4s (they will still go for a lot on eBay) and just use the money for the iPhone 5 if you want it that bad.

I still would say "IF" the iPhone 5 comes out when people think. There is no guarantee that Apple will release it to anyone in July - sure they have in the past, but that was when their agreement with AT&T was exclusive. It is not anymore, so no one really knows what is going to happen. Sure, there are rumors out there, etc. but I am also sure that the phone is being developed now (heck, I am sure that the iPhone 6 is even in development) but who knows when they will actually release it?
Secondly, even if it does come out, as I said, I don't think it will come to Verizon right away. And, if it does, Verizon MAY do some type of an early upgrade (as AT&T has done in the past) for those who bought this one, especially since it is only about 4 months after the release of this one. They don't HAVE TO do it, but they MAY WANT TO just to try and "save face" a bit as far as some people are concerned. I, for one though, don't think that they have to/should as everyone should know what the were buying when they bought it (and I am one that bought it).

You can buy the IPhone 5 when it comes out and have capped data, while I will have my IPhone 4 with unlimited data.

Yes, totally agree. This is one of the main reasons why I went ahead and bought one sooner.

AND.....we can get our iPhone 5's too (as there are always ways to get upgrades when you are not supposed to....you just have to be in good with the Verizon people and they will work with you! lol) with unlimited data, as we will be grandfathered in!

But.....I forgot to mention.....as I have been saying I HIGHLY DOUBT there will be an iPhone 5 on Verizon come summer. Apple MAY release one still like they have the past 4 years, but I don't know how sure that is either.

Remember, it's Verizon who needs Apple, not the other way around. Apple will dictate the iPhone 5 release in June, not Verizon. You are probably correct in your assumption that iPhone 5 will be a huge upgrade but that depends on what you consider a valuable upgrade.
Iphone 5 will have NFC support, more RAM, and a dual core processor. If you've used mobile Safari you know how frustrating it can be when you are constantly reloading your browser because of low memory. To me the performance upgrade alone makes it worth waiting for.
As for 4g support, the iPhone 5 will not be that phone. Remember how long Apple waited to get the 3g phone. It is also known that the iPhone 5 will work on Verizon and AT&T at the same time, because it does not make sense for them to make two different phones. Iphone 4 already proves that fact. The next iPhone will still be 3g.

I don't think that it will be a dual core chip either.....I think that will come when the 4G comes. There is no need for dual core chipset if the phone isn't going to be 4G.

The next iPhone will certainly be dual core and more RAM. The Verizon iPhone also proved the rumor about the Qualcomm chip. It's already inside the Verizon phone.

You may be right on the dual core. lol I definitely agree that it will have more RAM.
However, I still am sticking by my theory that Verizon won't offer it in July alongside with AT&T. Verizon will get theirs in Jan/Feb - the 1 year refresh cycle for them. And, if by some chance they do, I think they may offer an early upgrade to those who purchased this one.

i have to disagree. apple actually needs vzn more than vzn needs apple. vzn passed on the iphone 4 years ago which is how it ended up with at&t. and since vzn still lead the industry (withut the exclusive iphone) i'd say they did just fine. now though, apple will sell millions of more units of a device they launcehd 8 months ago. i'd say that's a pretty sweet deal for apple. and if the presale vs today's launch is any indication, it appears that most of the sales are going to existing customers (who obviously weren't going to leave vzn for the iphone). sure, vzn will pick up plenty of new at&t customers as a result of this....but i think in then end this will be a much bigger deal to apple than vzn. they can now sell twice the units that they could before. vzn won't land twice the contracts that they could before. no real lines or hype this morning (except in the sticks, where there may only be one apple store and a couple verizon stores within hours of the area) because most of the people buying it were already with verizon.

Apple will dictate the iPhone 5 release in June, not Verizon. Except...oops! If your company's email is on an exchange server, you have to pay $45, not $30, for data on Verizon. Just one of those "minor" things Verizon doesn't like to talk about. If I was charging 80% more for a service than my nearest competitor, I wouldn't talk about it much either.

Then go to AT&T, and hope they are what you need in your area. Just because they may be cheaper doesn't always makes them better.
Personally I switched from AT&T to Verizon and pay a little more because their service in my area is better than AT&T every part of the day and my most often places traveled. What good is that $30 if you don't get to use what you paid for?

I have my money that the iPhone 5 for Verizon won't happen until next year Febuary
Trend for the iPhone... AT&T get's it first, then Most of Europe, then the CDMA versions come out. China, and such... This will be at least a 6 month process.
So by all means wait for the 5, and I will enjoy my 4 and wait for the 6. I don't need the latest and greatest to stroke my ego.
