Why can't I use the Internet while on a phone call without using my WiFi

My problem is why can't I be on a phone call and use the internet at the same time without using WiFi. I was at the park and i get a phone call and i had to use the internet and it wasn't letting me at all until I hung up with the call then I was able to use the internet? Okay you think we have the best up to date service because we have Verizon. I know it's not the Iphone because I have talked to people that have different carries that have an Iphone and they are able to be on a phone call and search the web without being on WiFi why is that ? Is it my plan ? I know it can't be the phone ? It make me really bad. I know the Galaxy 4s you are able to do that. If I would have know I would have never switched phones.

Simultaneous talking and surfing via mobile data on Verizon's network requires an extra radio antenna, and Apple choose not to put them in the iPhones.

Isn't more of a limitation of VZW and CDMA than anything else? You can surf and talk at the same time on ATT and TMo because they're both GSM carriers.

You can surf and talk on any VZW 4G device except the iphones. If it's Verizon's doing, why would they restrict only the iphone?

This is the reason why. Apple already said this before the release on the iPhone 5 and people have forgotten. Also have to add LTE gets dropped on AT&T and T-Mobile version connecting to HSPA+ while on a call. On a Sprint or Verizon phone without the extra antenna there is a limitation due to CDMA being only able to do one or the other.

Yes I have a T-Mobile, and a AT&T line as well as a Verizon one. Sprint I used to have as well, but due to their... long story nevermind.

If you have the iPhone 6 you go to settings and cellular and on "enable LTE" change it to data and voice. Hope that helps

Just so you know...this thread is over a year old and long before the iPhone 6 was on the market...
