How much does Apple charge to replace an iPhone 5 battery?

Apple will replace your battery for $79. Also you should check to see if your iPhone is eligible for the free replacement https://www.apple.com/support/iphone5-battery/. There was a recall for certain iPhone 5's. My old one was covered but I had already paid to have it replaced so they reimbursed me.

Yes but even with those fees it's on par for what most local apple repair facilities (authorized and unauthorized) charge...give or take a few bucks. I think a lot of iPhone 5 users are unaware of the battery replacement program for some batteries so it's definitely something to look into. Much like I'm willing to bet most iPhone 6 plus users aren't aware that there is a program to replace defective iSight cameras on a certain portion of pluses out there. I think that's one negative about Apple...if you don't stumble across these programs on their website or it isn't an issue that is discussed in the media you won't know there's something out there until the time period to qualify passes....but that's s different topic lol
