eSIM Support for 2018 iPad Pro

I have been able to switch my iPhone XS from physical SIM to eSIM on Verizon. I have a 2018 iPad Pro with a physical SIM currently. I want to switch that to eSIM as well. I have been reading that Verizon does not currently support eSIM on iPad Pro.

Why is this not supported and when will it be? I see several other carriers supporting this, including the other large US carriers.

ENGINEERJ13, right now we have no information on any future plans to support eSIM on iPads. Aside from the eSIM versus a physical SIM card there's no difference in benefits really.
