iPhone 7 Plus Backorder

I ordered my phone (matte black iPhone 7 Plus 32 GB) on 9/25 with the expected shipping date of 11/09. Is Verizon planning on getting stock of phones prior to that? If not, is there a way I can cancel my order, keep the $650 trade in deal I was offered, and get a phone in-store? I have a hunch they would have stock sooner. I have had two friends now walk in and out of an Apple store with new phones and I'm getting anxious and frustrated.

Preordered a 7+ as well, on 9/11. Still waiting for it to arrive. Will the $400 trade in for the iPhone 5 still apply? I've had my trade in box for weeks. just waiting for the phone.

If my phone isn't going to ship until 11/09, but I ordered it on 9/25, that exceeds the 30-day window. Will I lose that trade-in value because I was offered and accepted a phone that was not in stock?

I have the same question as well. I ordered the matte black 128gb iPhone 7 plus on 9/16. My delivery estimate is 10/26. that is beyond the 30 day window. Even though I ORDERED the phone on 9/16 I can trade in my old phone if my iPhone 7 plus comes on 10/26? That seems kind of dishonest of Verizon seeing how you ALLOWED me to order the phone with trade in despite it being back ordered.

Also, does the trade in iPhone have to be SHIPPED within 30 days or does it have to be at Verizon with 30 days? I am going to be [Removed] if I don't get the 650 trade in if my phone gets here after 10/16. That is total [Removed] and yes, I ordered my phone from the Verizon website not over the phone.

I ordered a 32gb matte black 7 plus on 9/20 online with a ship date of 11/2 and was given a 650.00 trade in amount. So if I'm understanding correctly since I ordered online I only have 30 days from date of order To turn in my trade in to get the full amount. Since my phone won't be in my hands before that date I'm going to be getting the current trade in value at the time I send my old one in. But if I had called my order in then I would have more than 30 days to return my trade-in and get the full value. Doesn't seem Fair. So I will need to send my phone in before I get my new one and go without for two or three weeks if I want the full trade-in value or start shopping around hoping to find one in stock somewhere by me

I ordered the iPhone 7 Plus 128 in Matte Black on 9/28 with an expected delivery date of 11/30. Reading about this 30 day limit, I called and was told by a very nice rep that they would never do that because they can't take your phone back if you don't have a new phone yet, so there's no way the 30 day limit would expire prior to returning your phone. About 45 minutes later, she was kind enough to call back and explain that there is a 30 day limit to return your phone and qualify for the promotion you signed up for. She did, however say that they have a form called a "Trade-in Promo Correction/Recalc Form", which you can call and submit once your receive your new phone and are ready to trade in your old one. This should allow you to qualify for the original promo (likely the $650). Bottom line, I would call Verizon to verify, but it sounds like they have something in place in case this happens.

I just got off the phone with Verizon and the rep told me that we have nothing to worry about. We hold on to our old phones until we receive the new one and activate it. Then we'll send in our old phone. I clarified to make sure I understood correctly and he reassured me that we have nothing to worry about. Hope this helps.

So that means we have 1 person here who called and was told we have to fill out a correction form. Then we have another mine who called and was told there is nothing to worry about. Then we have two Verizon reps in this forum saying we DO have only 30 days to trade-in. Now I just called and asked "Sarah" the same question and she said I have 30 days from the date I ordered the phone. SO WHICH IS IT?

SO I'm currently chatting with a Verizon rep. They initially told me I have 30 days once the new phone is activated bc they "wouldn't do that to me" essentially. Then I told them about conflicting info in the thread about online vs phone orders and she looked into it further and it turns out for ONLINE orders you DO have to turn your trade in device in within 30 days of the ORDER date... leaving you without a phone if it's on back order.

They can't "convert" my order to a phone order it has to be canceled, which will cause me to lose the promotion and also put me at the back of the line shipping wise (I ordered 9/23).

[Removed] Verizon. This was NOT AT ALL clear during the order process or everyone here would have ordered over the phone. Very shady and stupid. Thinking about contacting the BBB and switching to AT&T as well since my device is paid off.

That is total crap. Why does it matter what method we used to buy the phone? You are totally right, there was NO way of knowing that otherwise I would have ordered over the phone.

I have a question for VERIZON. Let's say I even get my phone within that 30 day window. Do I have to SEND the trade in within the 30 day window or does Verizon have to HAVE the phone within the 30 day window? That could shorten the chance for trade in even more if they have to actually have it within 30 days.

I have 10 days Verizon. Send me my phone quick!

I ordered online, after I spoke with a phone rep to change my data plan. I specifically questioned the rep about the time limit to mail in the old phone for the $650 offer because I knew the new phone would be backordered (my order was placed on Sept. 21, iPhone 7 Plus, 128GB, estimated ship date Nov 11). I was told 30 days after I got the new phone. Confirmed it with a later phone call to Verizon because my email confirmation from Verizon on the new phone showed the trade-in device was my wife's phone not mine. I had to call Verizon to get that straightened out, so I re-asked the question. Was confirmed again. They shipped me a box for me to mail them my old device about a week later.

I will follow this thread this to see if someone can get it cleared up once and for all. If Verizon tries to screw me, I will sue them in small claims court. It is a joke they are sending mixed messages.

Be glad you don't have it. iPhone 7 and 7+ have terrible reception issues that verizon and apple are tying to figure out. Many of us cant use our phones Due to dropped calls and loss of LTE

We got my wife's iPhone 7 Plus and she says she hasn't noticed a difference in reception from her iPhone 6s. Maybe is has to do with certain towers or something.

She DOES have the hissing sound though. If you put your ear up to the back of the phone around where the Apple logo is it makes a hissing, sizzling, crackling type sound. It's particularly loud when processing something bigger like a game but it still makes noise even just having it on doing nothing. Many others have this issue too. Super bummed.

i still want my Matte Black 128gb 7+ though. I can always go to the Apple Store half hour from here to exchange it.

OK. I just got off the phone with a Verizon rep and was told normal program was 30 days after transaction date but since I wouldn't get the new phone by then, I will still get the $650 promo if I mail old phone timely after new phone rec'd.

No I can go to Apple for that. What we all want to know has been asked through out this forum multiple times. However, we want an answer that is 100% accurate and that a Verizon representitive GUARANTEES is the correct response. DO WE HAVE 30 DAYS FROM PURCHASE OR 30 DAYS FROM RECIEVING THE IPHONE 7 TO TRADE IN OUR OLD PHONES and get the 650 CREDIT.

We don't want a standard response because we have all had those and they have all been different answers. Give us a supervisor or something saying what is or isn't right. Thanks.

I purchased online with a trade in on 9/30, an email confirmation clearly states that I have 30 days to send in my trade after I get my new phone

"If you purchased a new smartphone, use the

recycling box to return your trade within 30 days

from receipt of new device".

Receipt of what though? When the order was placed or when you get charged? That still doesn't tell us anything.

I just looked at my original email and I concur with Psalm51. Email says if you ordered a new device to send your old device back within 30 days of receipt of the new device. It then says if you DID NOT order a new device to send the old back within 30 days of request. Simple system flow chart. If NEWDEV=yes then 30 days from receipt of new phone. If NEWDEV=no then 30 days from original request.

As opposed to all the calls I calll that definitive. I'm guessing the confusion with the CSR's is the two different clauses in the email. However an official (as official as an email can be) Verizon document does state the more favorable condition for all those who won't receive their phone prior to 30 days from order date.

BTW. My MB 7+ 128g with original date of 10/19 should be to me by 10/11 or 10/12. So, that's exciting!

I went back and found my email. Same thing. So that should be the end of this discussion. If iPhone 7 ordered before the end of the promo, you have 30 days after the new phone arrives to ship your old phone, regardless of how long that is after the purchase transaction.

No that's not what reciept means. The word reciept is a noun not verb. A reciept is something you get. You are interperting this as if it says "within 30 days of recieving the new device" Which is not what it's saying. So in this case it is more likely that "reciept" is the email you recieve that has an invoice. This is why we need clarification.

I would recommend looking up the word in the dictionary. It can be either a noun or a verb, but one of the meanings as a noun is: the act of receiving or the state of beingreceived.

So, there are other meanings that might fit but in context I believe this is the accurate definition. Before anyone starts grousing on the fact that you received a "receipt" when you ordered, you do not receive a true receipt until you pay Verizon money which does not happen until they ship the phone, thus everyone's obsession with watching their CC for charges as they wait. Verizon provided written acknowledgement of their intention in the email. There are so many rules and even more room for human error when attempting to interpret through CSR's and forum administrators.

Now, you may accuse me of being Pollyanna, but I don't believe Verizon wishes to slog through a massive PR nightmare by pulling a fast one on a significant number of their customers. Doing as many have suggested would be a class action lawsuit waiting to be filled. Providing the $650 credit would be much cheaper than the lawsuit and lost customers. Verizon is a large corporation that doesn't particularly care about us as individual customers, but they do like getting paid every month and keeping from bad press.

So, stop being purposely obtuse.

We want to clarify and make sure you know just what to expect. Getting your promotion is important and we want to make sure you get the full value. The phone needs to be traded in within 30 days of processing the trade in. However as long as you ordered the phone during the qualifying period you have until 12/31/16 to submit your trade in request. If it has been more than 30 days since you processed the trade in when you get the phone you may need to reprocess the trade in but you will still qualify for the full amount.

I ordered my gold Iphone 7plus on Sept 20. It had a shipping date of Oct. 5. It still has a shipping date of Oct. 5 and it is Oct. 11. When can I get expect my phone to be shipped?

I ordered mine last Thursday and it said it would ship by 11/30. I don't know if this applies to you since you ordered earlier but the woman at the store said that they wouldn't have any in stock or ready to ship until earliest, the end of this month.

Thanks Nick. I spent a good hour on phone yesterday, and no one knows where my order is! I must say that at least the customer service people I talked to were exhausting their options. The store says nothing other than, it looks like it is going to be delivered later. Like I did not know that already.

Ordered JB 128 7+ on 9/21,

had no ship date for a long time. I checked today and it says expected ship date 11/30/2016. If this is like the other iPhone 7+'s on my account, it will ship 2-3 weeks in advance. As soon as the status changes from Processing to "pending shipment" you will have it within 2 business days. Just hang tight everyone! This isnt VZW's fault, as much as it is Apple's "fault". The demand was simply greater than expected for all iPhone 7+ models, especially the Jet Blacks!

Looks like my 7+, 128, matte black ordered on 9/21 is on the way, Verizon just posted the $20 upgrade fee to my Visa, the estimated shipping was 11/16.

So 4 weeks early.

They are shipping early! We ordered (2) iPhone 7 plus 128GB in matte black, scheduled ship by date was 11/09, just got email today that they had shipped and tracking information is up. Assuming 1 or 2 days to arrive our trade in phones will get there about a day past the 30 days. The 30th day since trade in offer for the $650 will be on 10/20. That's a bummer really. Hoping the phones come tomorrow, that way I can get the trade ins into the mail and maybe, just maybe, they will arrive right on that 30th day so I have no issues to deal with possibly!

So my order was suppose to be shipped on 10/19 and then it was backordered again to 11/02. I called Verizon yesterday and they said my order was "Up in the air" so they cancelled it and reordered and put mines first priority to ship out because of there error. It suppose to be shipped tomorrow.

Anyone order during the last week of October and already have their device?

I ordered a 256 GB Rose Gold iPhone 7 Plus on 10/28 at the Verizon store and was given an estimated ship date of 11/09. It changed one day before that ESD to 12/05/2016.

A Verizon rep told me it could come sooner than that date, but couldnt provide any other information on the order. Anyone else had any luck with getting their late October orders (iPhone 7 plus) sooner than 12/05?
