iPhone 7 poor reception

I just upgraded to the iPhone 7 and my reception is awful.

I get no signal where on my iPhone 6 I had a good signal.

I discovered if I reboot, I get the signal again but if driving I lose the signal again.  But again a reboot restores the signal.

This is terrible service.

The Verizon store fixed my issue.

In Settings>Cellular make sure Cellular Data is on.  Under Cellular Data Options click to turn Roaming on and make sure Enable LTE is set only to Data and Roaming is Voice Only

The poor reception and dropped service happens everywhere. Not just at my home. I've tried turning off HD calling and back on. No change. I do have WiFi as well and since my service is so bad I usually have to have the WiFi active to use the phone for the limited use its good for.

I saw a comment on here from Verizon that "obtaining a signal indoors can be tricky".  Are you serious??? What are people supposed to do no with an iPhone 7, go outside to make or receive calls?

I have tried everything including fiddling with all settings HD Voice, Voice and Data etc etc; installing a network signal extender as recommended by Verizon only to be told by the next Verizon tech support person I spoke to help get it set it up that it was a waste of time and could do nothing more than the iPhone could already.

I have been a customer for 13 years but I think its time to pull the plug.

A building will always decrease signal for every provider. It depends on the strength of the signal before it enters the building and the frequency and the construction materials of the building. Many larger office buildings are wired to bring the cell singal inside, but many are not and homes certainly are not.

With the iPhone 7, you also have wifi calling to use indoors when the signal is low. Have you used that?

Its not isolated to indoors that has horrible service! It will completely drop service even outside. And an iPhone right next to me will habe LTE with full bars and I have 1x. There is obviously an issue with the iPhone 7s but verizon and apple will not admit to it. I've been disappointed with Verizon's customer service over this issue. You can ask 10 different people about it and they'll give you 10 different excuses and still no solutions.

Did you take the phone to Apple? We have two 7s, and the signal is rock solid as good or better than the 6 they each replaced.

I bought the phone through Verizon and have the insurance plan through Verizon. Do I still take them all to Apple to replace?

I always recommend to take any iPhone to Apple first if it is less than a year old.  It doesn't matter where you bought it.

I am having all the same problems and I have done similar things to fix it without any success. Very Frustrating!

What are my options?

I've had my iPhone 7 for about 10 days now. Don't use it a lot at home, but frequently at work, which is where I'm having my problems. People I'm talking to constantly can't hear me, tell me I'm breaking up. I had a little of this issue with my 5s, but it's much worse with the 7. Walking through the parking lot I've sometimes had no service at all.

iOS is 10.1.1. ZIP is 02452. Cellular is set to Enable LTE Voice & Data, Roaming Voice Only.

I have two cell phones, an apple iPhone 6s through at&t that is my work phone, and an iPhone 7 plus that I just purchased through Verizon. My iPhone 7 plus is a disgrace to say the least. I have tried fixes, and any and everything that I can find to help. Nothing helps the non- existent reception issues, dropped calls and fading in and out on the calls that I can make. I had both phones in the same spot while driving today. AT&T iPhone 6s with 4 bars and LTE, Verizon iPhone 7 plus with 1 bar. What is going on???? I have a little time to return the phone, and believe that it will likely happen. Unfortunately I have been a Verizon customer for many years, maybe it's time for a change. Being in sales, I can't afford for either of my phones to let me down. I never had a problem with my previous Verizon phone, an HTC One, so this problem seems like it's isolated to the iPhone 7 and 7 plus? What also makes it puzzling is, I have a cell tower less than 200 yarea from my house. Very Disappointing to say the least

PATSOM20, I know that reception issues would have me just as alarmed, especially if my previous device did not have the same problem. We are here to help out. What zip code are you located in? Do you know if other Verizon Wireless subscribers with smartphones also experience the same issues with reception in the area?

My zip is 34695. I appreciate you wanting to know how widespread the problem might be, but when you do everything Verizon says to fix the problem and the problem persists, it is time for Verizon respond with a sense of urgency to serve the customer base with a solution that works.

blockquote, div.yahoo_quoted { margin-left: 0 !important; border-left:1px #715FFA solid !important; padding-left:1ex !important; background-color:white !important; } My zip code is 16142, and as I mentioned before, I had a smart phone with no issues prior to the iPhone  7 plus. There are also 2 other smart phones in my household, one of which is a iPhone 6s Plus with no issues, all Verizon wireless. I am not aware of anyone else having issues with smart phones either. Again, as mentioned previously I have a cell tower 200 yards from my home.

This problem needs to be addressed, and quickly. I am out of patience, and out of ideas. My intentions are to return the phone at the beginning of next week.

I would suggest that anyone having the problems on their devices return them if they are still under the 14 day period or visit their local Apple Store if one is available. I haven't had any of these issues on my or my moms iphone 7 Plus but that's true every time these same complaints come out about the newest release. I can only assume I live in an area with excellent coverage since it never happens or I'm just the luckiest person on the planet to never get a defective device.

We definitely want you to have great service at all times. Sorry that there has been a change in service. How does the phone function away from this area? Have you you tried resetting the network settings (settings> general> reset> reset network settings). Let's see if that helps.

I am having the exact same problem. In places that I used to get reception, I end up with breaking-up, dropped, or hanging up out of frustration calls. In the first two weeks of having my iPhone 7, all calls except three ended in results mentioned previously. The most recent occurrence was a medical emergency and the call would not hold for me to get information to my family. Please help! This has occurred in at least three different towns/cities.

Having reliable cell service is a must for me these days. We always want you to feel safe. Let's make that happen. What are the zip codes does this happen in? Is this happening inside and outside?

PATSOM20,

I would be frustrated as well if I was having signal issues. Let’s get to the bottom of this. Is the software on your device up to date? Can you please provide the version number? Is it just an issue with calls? Are text and data affected?

Same exact problem in zip code 80016. With the previous phone (iphone 5), no issues. Ever since getting the iPhone 7, people have to ask us to repeat sentences and say we are breaking up. Really isn't fun to not have a signal in your house. On my Moto Z, I have a perfect signal, so it is something with the iPhone 7. Wish VZW would address it.
