I just upgraded to the iPhone 7 and my reception is awful.
I get no signal where on my iPhone 6 I had a good signal.
I discovered if I reboot, I get the signal again but if driving I lose the signal again. But again a reboot restores the signal.
This is terrible service.

The Verizon store fixed my issue.
In Settings>Cellular make sure Cellular Data is on. Under Cellular Data Options click to turn Roaming on and make sure Enable LTE is set only to Data and Roaming is Voice Only

To follow up my own post, the only way I have been able to deal with this was a workaround:
--Go to cellular in settings, then cellular options, click enable LTE and choose data only.
Note: This will disable VoLTE or HD Voice, WiFi calling and the ability to talk on the phone and use data at the time same; however, at least we can now carry on a conversation.

Same here in 78521 zip code area. I was with Sprint using an iPhone 6 and my call were never drop or never had poor reception Now with the iPhone 7/ Verizon my signal strength is horrbile. Called customer service so they can help me out and all they did is give me the run a around. They stated it was the building I was in that's causing the poor signal strength and telling them that I never had this problem before with Sprint cell service??

I usually don't respond on these forums. However, I feel it's important to support others with attempting to get Apple/Verizon to address unresolved issues. I recently replaced two of our Android phones with iphone 7's. We have always had good reception in our home with our android devices. This is proving NOT to be the case with the iphones. We are experiencing many dropped calls, distorted calls and poor reception with the new phones. We live in zip code 85747.

I am also having reception issues. I have had my phone since late last year and hoping with each update and carrier update it gets better but no luck yet.
I went from a iPhone 6 to iPhone 7 (128gb), both on Verizon. Talk in the same places as before but now noticed especially when only have 1 bar I can hear person I am talking to fine ,but on their end, they can't hear me. Never had any issues with my iPhone 6 on Verizon in the same places. Worked great even in the elevators at work. Actually switched from AT&T when got the 6 because had issues at and people on Verizon didn't. Also, noticed when driving as well. Ever since phones went to using LTE even with 1 bar usually service is usable, not on this phone. I turned off the voice LTE today and will see if that helps. I live in zip 23219.

Same problem! I commute the same way everyday and since I got the Iphone7 it is nearly impossible to have a conversation. without exaggeration there is 7 spots I pass in a 20 mile commute that will drop a call as soon as I enter them. unfortunately one of those spots is also my house. My wife has a iphone6 and in those same spots she will carry full LTE and I will have 1x on my phone. I'm in sales and this has caused a huge inconvenience on my family, and work. I truly hope something gets resolved soon before I'm forced of going through the hassle/cost of replacing my phone

JH17558,
I know how important it is to get your service working properly. Let's review this more together. What zip code are you in? Are there others with the same issues?

I am convinced the 4:18pm post was a bot.
Seven pages of complaints with people posting their zip code, detailed issues of connection and/or reception problems and the post a question to see if "there are others with the same issues".
Just so you know VZW, a reset doesn't fix it, neither do any of the other ideas you have brought up.
The bottom line: there is a problem with the iPhone 7's reception as compared to the previous models (4,5,6). And it isn't a network problem as my Moto Z Force Droid works perfectly.
I have been with VZW (started with Airtouch) since the late 90s and this is simply unacceptable.

I'm having same poor reception problems with iphone 7. Nothing fixes this - I've tried everything in this thread to resolve the problem. I see that there have been no responses from Verizon in a while. Perhaps they have given up on the problem by now (and given up on us). It is amazing to me that the only solutions they suggest are simple settings changes, trying to "trick" the phone into working better. Verizon, with the help of Apple, MUST do something from a hardware standpoint to fix this problem. I've spoken with a couple of lawyer friends who would like to start class action proceedings on this problem. I worry for Apple.

I am also having horrible issues since I've upgraded to an iPhone 7. I can't use it at home! I've tried everything in this forum. Any new ideas? Get rid of Verizon?

Paying for a phone that isn't working as expected is never fun. I understand where your frustrations come from. When you received the phone did you use the SIM card that came with it, or are you using your old SIM card?
Has the phone completed any recent updates? Are all of your apps up to date?

We'd like to ensure your devices are working correctly. Are you seeing service issues towards the end of your billing cycle? Are both devices seeing services issues indoors and outside?

I am so glad to see this posted! I am beyond frustrated with my new phone!! The service is so much worse both on reception for talking and the internet.
Also when using the handheld up to the ear people have a very hard time hearing me. I have confirmed with a couple other friends with iPhone that they have the same issue. It works with a head set, but not when you hold it up to your ear as well.
What is verizon doing to address these issues.

Laugre35, we want you to be heard, and our always working with Apple to improve cellular connectivity. I understand how frustrating it must be to repeat things. Let's first make sure the software is up to date.
Under Settings > General > About, what does it show is your version number?

I'm having the same issue. Just switched to Verizon from AT&T a little over a week ago and my iPhone 7 had bad reception unless I switch it off of "Voice & Data". Still within return period so might take it back. Wife's organization about to switch as well (which is why I switched) but will let them know this isn't working. Her AT&T phone has great reception in the same spot as well.
i have iOS 10.3.2 (14F89) and carrier 28.4. I'm currently in zip code 11953. Problem is noticed in the house, but again, not if LTE is set to "data only" or "off."
Will see if a substantive answer is given before switching back to AT&T. By substantive I mean something other than a what's been given here so far or some assurance that an update will fix this within a reasonable time frame. This should not take months to fix.

We understand that reliable service is important for all of us, Mickey. I would be lost without my phone so I know this is a major concern. With regards to the area what zip code are you in? Does this happen in other areas at all? Is it a indoor issue mainly or does it happen outdoors as well?

I upgraded a few weeks ago to iPhone 7. Never had any issues before and nor does my husband.
We live in Zip code 21093 and I work in 21212. I never have more than 2 bars on my cell phone, when others have no reception problems.
I love the phone for everything EXCEPT making phone calls. Everyone complains that I'm breaking up or distorted, or the calls drop. This happens inside or outside, no matter what.
I have tried everything suggested and still no resolution.
I now use my husband's phone to call my mother because I'm sick of hearing her complain. It is an issue because my mom is 77 and I need to be available 24/7 for her, as she lives alone.

That is a great device, we certainly want you to get the service you deserve with it. We won't stop until you do. Your details are helpful, as a result I was able to confirm that there are no issues reported in those areas. Do you know of other Verizon customers in these areas with this issue? Is there any physical or liquid damage to the phone?
