no service!!!

As of today (10/22/13) I can't text, call, or check my account. When I send a text message it says "Delivery Failed: (Service Not Available)"

I've tried calling someone, and the call doesn't go through, it just drops. When I call service numbers, like *611, it says that "Sorry, I'm having some technical difficulties"

what's going on?

I live in Jackson, MS area. my zip is 39211

I live in Gainesville, FL and am having the same issue. Not sure if there's some network wide issue?

same problem here! even my account on verizon website says can't access and calling toll free number says it's having "...technical difficulties... bye!" gee.

Same problem here in Tallahasse. Would be nice if someone from Verizon could respond and explain. The service is not cheap and I don't appreciate not being able to use it.

me 4 sounds like country wide i am in mass..i only got a verizon phone to use because it was the only one that worked on a cruise as i have a sick uncle and this is my only form of cxommunication they better get it back today

no service!! delivery failed...37766. i wish someone from verizon would post something as to why and how long this is going to last. call customer service and they tell you "having technical difficulties" and they hang up on you!! wth?

I'm in Southern California and have NO SERVICE!!! No talk, text, or internet. When I call tech. support it says "having tech. Difficulties." WTH is going on? I need my phone its my business line. They seriously need to fix this PRONTO!!!!

Just did the online chat with a service representative. They indicated there was some kind of system-wide service update (though that might actually just be what they're calling technical difficulties), she said it should be done in another 45 minutes or so, then you dial *228 and choose option 1 for reprogramming the phone.

I'm guessing if it was a service update rather than some other issue they would have had the forethought to notify customers of the temporary outage, but who knows.

She indicated to me it wouldn't work until after 9 am (assuming central standard time, as it was 8:15 her time and 9:15 my time), so sounds like at least another 15-20 minutes. That is assuming this is actually an update with a set time and not some big technical problems...

Service update my tail! It's a system wide outage for some reason and I don't appreciate being told it's something else like it was something they planned. Bull! There are a lot of angry Verizon users this morning.

mine went out around 5:24 am i sent one text out but one a few seconds later would not work .......... and now since then every time i call it drops ....... called verizon from my friends phone and put my number in and they said sorry could not process at this time and the call ended ........

Still no service in Bonita Springs FL. Can't get thru online Verizon Website either, though I still can use internet with my phone through wifi.

i went onto the verizon wireless internet page and used live support and got no answers iother than well it will be up when its up she didnt even say is was country wide..my friend was a bigger help

If this is just an update, etc. then they should have notified everyone. Many people rely on their phone for work, etc. and a heads up is super important. Work couldn't get hold of me when needed and I can't call my work contacts until I am near a landline. Had to call my kids' schools to let them know I would be reachable at various other locations throughout the day or sometimes not at all when on the road. Completely unacceptable that there is at least no comment on Facebook, etc. or a service message when you call to tell you what is up. A refund better be in order. I will be calling them once I can to complain!
