I’ve been with Verizon for almost 2 years. Bought a new iPhone 14 Pro to service with Verizon. I pay $100 a month and yet I almost always, constantly, remain on 1 Bar. If I’m lucky 2. Phone calls consistently dropping, poor connection, and slow moving data. I can’t even attempt a messenger video call or FaceTime call. I’ve contacted the Verizon online tech team and even gotten in touch with Tier 2 tech teams. Almost every month I’m contacting Verizon about this. And almost every month it’s the same thing: “Don’t worry about the bars, how’s the actually service?”, Well the actual cellular data service is pretty bad. My phone is always barely useable without being connected to WiFi. I’m tired of having to reach out and will be making my switch to T Mobile.

I’ve also done my research and this is actually one of the most possibly common things from Verizon ever! Actually all I had to do was search “1 Bar” and all the Verizon forums popped up. Many people having the same issue as me. So I should’ve done my research before sinking in $100 dollars every month for a year and a half.

I’m sorry that you’re having cellular issues, but I’ve had Verizon for 18+ years and never experienced any connection issues. I can even say—years ago—back in the 2000s, when the Midwest of the United States suffered that blackout that lasted for a few days. Other phone carriers had no service; however Verizon was the only service that remained operational

I've heard of people having more problems with their mobile service in general since 3G was shut down by all carriers a couple years ago; it's a bigger issue if you're in a rural area. However, no one carrier is going to be perfect for everyone. I tried T-Mobile myself very briefly and lasted only a few days with them because I was having the "one bar" problem and my phone not working indoors, but Verizon's been great for me other than slow data speeds a good part of the time, but I'm also a prepaid customer, so will not get the same internet speeds as postpaid customers who are paying more than me.
The OP could try getting a network extender from Verizon to see if that would help with their poor signal strength, but porting out is a more cost effective solution, so hopefully they'll have better service with another carrier.

Hi Deb2233, thanks for bringing your connectivity concerns to our attentions. I don't see any history through this platform, so I wanted to get some more detials. Have you ever done any troubleshooting through another department?

Hey there, Jackie00, I'm sorry to hear you've been running into issues with your cell service. We know it's important to have coverage you can count on. Has this been happening since you activated service with Verizon? As far as the calls dropping and slow data speeds, is this happening at a particular location/locations or no matter where you go?

I’m fed up as well. One bar as I type! I left T-Mobile to get a new phone from Verizon. Worst mistake ever! I’m going back as soon as it’s paid off. Ridiculous! Never this issue with T-Mobile .

It’s everywhere. I travel for work and the 6 months Verizon signal is horrible. It used to be the best. Now T-mobile is better, what’s really going on and don’t say weather.

My experience was the opposite of yours...I typically get 3 bars on Verizon in an area which is difficult for cellular service. With T-Mobile it was 1 bar all the time and I couldn't even make calls indoors. Without directly plugging any carrier...I'm pretty sure I've seen ads offering to buy out your phone. You'd have to get one of their phones in exchange, so would still be making payments, but hint, hint...
Dead zones can occur anywhere and happen with any carrier. There are assorted causes, so it's hard to say why Verizon hasn't been working for you while another carrier does.

I came on to google the exact same issues. I’ve had Verizon for a very long time. Bit I’ve made a point of seeing what others around me have (with Verizon) and it’s always me. 1 bar extremely slow service while everyone is zipping around. Never get an answer never resolve the issue.

Happy Monday! Being on top of your account is crucial, especially if you are encountering signal issues. Verizon is here to help.
Please tell us more, what exactly happens when you attempt to use the service (calls, texts, data)? When did the issue start? What recent changes have you made? Who else is experiencing this problem?

I'm having all the same problems. Been with Verizon for over 18 years but seriously thinking about switching.

Susan, it'd be disheartening to have you leave after those 18-years. Especially if there was some technical issue we hadn't looked at. Can you share a bit more about what's going on, and where you're having trouble?
