Caller hears two rings and it goes to voicemail

For 3 months, intermittently, the caller will hear 2 rings then will be sent to voicemail. My phone doesn’t ring, nor does it show a missed call. If they leave a voicemail, that will show up. My software is up to date, it is not on DND, airplane mode, or call forwarding. I see many people complain about a similar issue; this has happened in our home, California, Arizona, and while in a vehicle. My  husband has an iPhone 13 with no issues. I have the G5 Get more plan from Verizon.

Hello, Ltomaszewski. Help is here and thank you for these details. This is definitely strange. So sorry to ask this question but any damage to the phone, physical or liquid?

Phone is in perfect condition-no drops or liquid! I have a protective case and screen protector as well.

Thank you for letting us know your device isn't damaged. You have shared that the device does not have Do Not Disturb/Focus turned on, airplane mode or call forwarding. Have we completed any additional troubleshooting steps with you thus far? If so, what have we completed with you? Did any of the steps offer any improvement with your experience, even if only for a short time?

I looked at your posted FAQ  and  it didn’t offer solutions. Went to this board for assistance. The past two  evenings about 8pm, the ring twice go to vm happened while I was home.

Thank you for this information. Does this occur with numbers on your contact list. Do you have this feature on: https://support.apple.com/en-us/111106 ~Peter

It happens to people in my contact list. It just happened an hour ago from a CEO who was trying to reach me. It doesn’t show that I had a missed call; I only know because a message was left.
I do not have that feature turned on my phone.

This is frustrating; I hope you can help!

Thank you so much for the information, Ltomaszewski. Does this affect every call? Does this happen only in certain locations? Also, how long after the missed call do you receive the voicemail notification?

I appreciate the help; it happens intermittently. I don’t know how long after the call goes to vm it shows  up-the phone does not show that I ever missed a call.  It happens often in our house, my husband doesn’t have this issue with his phone in our house. My daughter called 5 times last night-it went through on the fifth call!

Ltomaszewski, thank you for this info. Do you know if call forwarding was activated on the line? From your device, please dial *73 and call. You should hear a beep and then the call should disconnect. Once you do this, could you please test it and keep us posted?

I dialed *73, heard the beep and hung up. I had my husband call and it went through. My daughter tried to call me tonight, it failed at 5 pm; she tried again at 9:45 and it went through.

Ltomaszewski, thanks so much for trying this step and for the update. Let's take a deeper look into this issue. I have sent you a Private Message for additional support.

Is your signal strength often weak?  Poor signal strength can cause problems with missed calls as well as the more usual dropped calls.

Our phones, in our house (in a suburb), only has 2 bars at best. But this happens in many different places.

I don't know why your issue is occurring in multiple locations, unless all of the places in question do not have good signal strength.  But if the best you get is 2 bars at home, it's not very good because at 1 bar, the signal is not reliable enough for calls to work all the time.  This could very well be the problem with why calls are not coming in at home or are otherwise being delayed.
