Change to default voicemail greeting not working

I have the new iPhone 15 Pro and I am trying to change my voicemail back to the default greeting from custom and it will not let me save it or change it from the Greetings section under Phone settings. I also do not have an option to change it to default when dialing *86.

Whats going on and why can’t I change it to default?

We want to make sure that you are able to adjust your voicemail without issues. Here's the process: https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/change-voicemail-greeting-and-settings-ipha113f4a15/ios~Geo

That link doesn’t work. If it is the steps to go to Phone settings > Greeting then I have already tried that 😕

Being an iPhone user myself, I just looked at my own iPhone. When I go to the phone app, then select Voicemail, there's an option for 'Greeting' up in the top left. When you click you're presented with the Default and Custom option. If you hit Default, a blue checkmark will appear next to it. You need to complete the change by hitting 'Save' in the top right corner. Have you tried this, and if so, what happened?

It lets me check mark custom and record the custom greeting, but the save button is grayed out and will not save.

We're sorry to read that you're not able to switch the voicemail greeting. Have you tried calling your voicemail to change it there? ~Peter
