Over the past 6 months I am having an issue of not receiving voicemails until late. I have an iphone 7, update the iOs regularly. Throughout my day I go from being on wifi to in areas with just cellular service multiple times. When I do receive the voice mails it will be in a bunch all at once. This morning someone left me a voice mail, I can listen to it if I call in and access my voice mail account but if I look at my voicemail through my iphone there is no indication of a message. I just called myself and left a test voice mail. Same thing If I call *86 my voicemail is there but I don't get any notification of a voicemail on the iphone and if I go to the call function and choose voicemail it does not indicate nay new voicemails.

This solved it:
Go to iphone "Settings"
go to "Cellular"
go to "Calls on other devices" and then TURN OFF.
This immediately solved my issue.

This did not solve my issue. I have the same problem, on both my device and my wifes device.

I hope you are having a great day so far and a wonderful beginning to your week! Thank you so much for reaching out to us today. We are always here to answer all of your questions and concerns. I am so sorry that you are having issues with your voicemail and we want to get this fixed. Please help me understand what you tried that "did not solve your issue". How often are you powering your device completely off? Is your Cellular Data feature turned off? Have you called into to your Voicemail Box to clear out your old messages rather than just deleting them from the Visual Voicemail Application?
I also want to emphasize that Apple's Visual Voicemail system does need a cellular network signal in order to deliver a notification. If you are continually connected to Wi-Fi or have your cellular data turned off, this will impact your notifications. If you are traveling more than 10 miles from your home each day, it is imperative that you power off your phone once or twice with the Wi-Fi feature turned off so your phone can receive network updates and connect to the closest tower to you. Please try these steps and keep me updated. I will be standing by!

I am having the same problem. Days go by before 1 or 2 voicemails make it through to me. Called myself and have left 2 voicemails both of which have yet to make it through to my actual iphone. When i called *86 i had 21 new messages dating back as far as March 30th!! Before you suggest your mailbox may have been full and thats why i wasnt notified, i deleted them all. Deleted my deleted. left myself a new message. and it still didnt come through.
I have turned off my wifi. Restarted my phone (several times). turned my cellular data off then on. reset my networks settings. verified my notifications are on.
I have completed the above steps SEVERAL times in all different orders just to verify im not missing anything. My phone is up to date on updates. And my cellular data does work because when wifi is off i can still use the internet to search. Now what?!
Locations my phone is typically being used is 92128 and 92064. San Diego county. Poway and Rancho Bernardo.

I know how crucial it is to receive your voicemails in a timely fashion, bobf8738. It's concerning to hear about the delays in receiving voicemails and I'm confident we can help. I'm glad to hear that you have been so proactive in troubleshooting. There is a known issue with some customer voicemails being delayed in relation to Apple iPhones. The issue is under investigation currently, however, we do not have a time frame for resolution right now. In the meantime, we would ask that you check that your operating system is fully up to date. You can check for an update by going to settings, general, software update. If an update is available, please have it applied and then ensure Wi-Fi is turned off and restart your phone (as you did in the past). Does this clarify?

I have been having the same issue and another forum I found said this:
It appears you're only having an issue with voicemail and not your text messages or other services so it's likely that we just need to reset the mailbox. To do so, please go into Settings>General>Reset>Reset the Network Settings. Your greeting and existing voicemail messages will be unaffected during this process. Once completed, have someone leave you a voicemail to ensure it notifies you right away.
It worked for me.

Yes I had this problem too along with a weird glitch. Yesterday 2/23/19, I had 3 voicemails delivered all at once. One was current, the other was from the day before and the third was from 2/5/19. THAT ONE, said it was from my brother but it was really from a doctor's office. Would have been nice to get that one on time since I called their office complaining about the "not returned phone call" when they actually had. Nice trick Verizon! (Coincidentally the one that was from the day before was from my brother)
I just tried the option of resetting network options as another had suggested. So we shall see if there are any problems in the future.

Within the past two weeks I've experienced the same delayed voicemail issue. I get missed calls but no voicemail. Then several days later I will get the voicemail that was left after the missed call. I've reset the network settings as described above but that didn't solve my problem. I left myself several voicemails today that have not come through.
Please help us solve this problem. Voicemail is very important from a work and personal standpoint!

I would be just as concerned and frustrated over the delayed messages, bhm22wfd. Two weeks is far too long to be dealing with this. Especially when messages can be so important!
Do you happen to know if WiFi is ON or OFF when callers are leaving messages? If you have Cellular Data turned OFF and messages are being left, they will not be pushed to your phone until you're connected to Cellular Data.
Please try toggling WiFi OFF and ON.
Do you dial *86 [send] to access the mailbox, or do you use Visual Voicemail?

I'm also having the same issue. i've reset my network settings to no avail. If I call *86, there are voicemails there, but no notifications on my phone or any way to get the Visual voicemail. I've checked to make sure notifications are turned on, and they are. At random times, I will get a pile of voicemail notifications (badge, actual messages, etc), so I know notifications are working. My data is on, iphoneX software up to date.
Other ways to troubleshoot?

dancinkarma,
It's important to us that you receive your voicemail on time. Thanks for the proactive steps you've taken in troubleshooting this issue. Since the voicemail relies on your data connection, we want to be sure that although it's turned on, the data is working properly and isn't the cause of the trouble. With Wi-Fi turned off on your phone, are you able to browse the internet or use other data-dependent apps you have installed on your phone? So that we can check the coverage in your area, please provide the cross streets to the intersection nearest you and the city you're in.

I tried toggling wifi on/off but it didn't solve the problem. I check voicemail from my phone by clicking on the new voicemail notifications when they are available. That's the problem though. They are never showing up. I've tried using *86, but I get a message that no new voicemails are available. This is untrue becuase I have left several test voicemails myself that are floating around in cyberspace somewhere.

I am experiencing the SAME problems with iPhone Verizon messages not being showing up immediately. Today I received a sudden surge of three voice messages left up to 5 days ago. I’ve read the numerous complaints about this arising from VERIZON with the company admitting there is a problem on their end. AND YET IT CONTINUES. After jumping through all the hoops of re setting this and that and trying this and that to no success it’s time that Verizon FIX this ongoing problem for we the customers. This ongoing failure of the service can result in potentially disastrous outcomes as some customers have described.
I use an iPhone 6 with current iOS

I've toggled wifi on/off...no help. I've verified that cellular data is on., and even toggled it on/off to make sure...again, no help.
I normally check my voicemail by clicking on the notification when one pops up. I assume that's what you mean by "visual voicemail". However, since I've been experiencing this problem I've tried using *86 several times. Unfortunately, when I dial *86 I get a message that there are no new messages. However, that is not the case as I have left several messages for myself that never come through.

We always want everyone to get their voicemail notifications on time, sharonvoc. We want to help you.
Do you also have an iPhone or another phone? Do you notice if this issue happens when you are not getting our LTE signal? Does this only happen when you are connected to Wi-Fi, so when you are connected to our LTE the notification comes?

I have the same problem. Getting vm notifications days or weeks after they came in. This is unacceptable and dangerous as I have a severe medical condition and have tests, appts, proceedures being scheduled all the time. I have been with Verizon for years, but have no contract corrently and will be changing to T mobile if this is not resolved permently.
I can push my missed vms thru by calling my cell from my home line and leaving a message. This only works if I let the greeting play to the end and then leave a message. If I hit the volume key (which you often do, due to seeing you don't want to take the call right now, and want to force it to vm) this vm message also goes into the vm nirvana and does not come thru.

gtelling, I agree receiving VM notification days and weeks late is unacceptable especially having severe medical conditions. It would be sad to see you leave the Verizon family. Let's work to get to the bottom of this. Are you experiencing any other service issues? If so please explain. Do you normally keep your cellular data on? Have you tried restarting your device?
