My uncle purchased iphone 15 pro max from Verizon in 11/28. Bought it to India for my cousin but carrier esim shows locked.
will esim be unlocked after 60 days of purchase ie 1/29/2024?
and then my cousin can use any Indian carrier network in that phone after that?
the phone is purchased on monthly payments and full payment has not been done.
please suggest what should be done to use an Indian Carrier sim. Thanks!

Hello janavijhawar
Yes, if the device was activated on our network it will be unlocked after 60 days. See more information here: https://www.verizon.com/about/consumer-safety/device-unlocking-policy -Joe

Currently my cousin does not have an active verizon in the phone in India.
there is no network in phone. Will it still be unlocked?
or we need to add a verizon esim to it in India?

janavijhawar, great question. Unfortunately, inserting a Verizon SIM card will not work as you need to be in our network (in the US) for it to activate. May I ask, where did your cousin get the phone from? Reason I am asking is that we may need to see if it is eligible to be unlocked.

The receipt says Verizon Wireless only, and has been bought as an upgrade to previous verizon number.

Thank you for this info, janavijhawar. We can check to see if the phone can be unlocked but for this to happen, we must properly authenticate the account that it was connected to. Are you the account owner or the account manager of the Verizon account in question? Please let us know as this is the only way we can unlock the phone.
