Hello, my family moved our plan back to Verizon from Xfinity. Everyone else in my family successfully ported their phone number to the new service almost instantly. I went into Verizon to get my number ported too, and gave them the PIN number, account numbers, etc. they said it would take 24-48 hours. Why the difference? Later, I got a call from Verizon asking for the account holder’s name, which I gave to them but they said it was wrong. They called me again, asked me to confirm the billing zip code, and checked that the port is underway. They said there are actually no issues and the port is still happening. I keep checking the status online as well. If there are no issues with the account, it shouldn’t be taking this long, right? My number still isn’t ported. Why is it taking mine so much longer than my family’s, on the same plan?

I think I solved it! Turned out the transfer pin was expired from when my family members used it. I called xfinity but couldn’t get a new pin because they kept sending it to my non-ported number, which I obviously didn’t have access to. I went into xfinity in person with my Verizon sales rep on the line, we finally got a transfer pin from xfinity, and it finally worked. Was definitely an issue with xfinity and not Verizon! The Verizon rep was super helpful.

This sounds like an issue with Xfinity not releasing your number for some reason. Would contact them to see what the hold-up is. If all else fails, get the FCC on it.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
