Message+ stopped working after iOS 17,2 update on iPad 5

I have Message+ installed on my iPad 5  with Verizon service. I use Message+ to share access with my Android phone. It’s worked reasonably well for years. Although a little flaky  and slow at times , it’s worked well.

I just installed  the latest iOS update.  It may have been iOS 17.2  or 17.3.  The reason for not being sure is I received another iOS update a  few days later in hopes of solving the Message+ issue.,  but didn't check the previous version. The newest version  is definitely 17.3, After installing  the first update, maybe 17.2, Message+ stopped working well enough to use. It freezes for long periods of time at startup of the app and while using it. For instance, it’ll take about a minute to bring up the list of previous message threads. Then once displayed, scrolling up and down freezes every other second for a half second to sometimes upwards of about 20 seconds.

I have uninstalled Message+ and reinstalled it. I also updated to the next iOS release, 17.3, which came a few days after I installed the previous one,  but to no avail. It still freezes. It’s currently unusable.

We recommend switching to a different messaging service as Message+ is set to be retired this year. Google Messages can give you the same functionality you're looking for so you can view your messages on your tablet.
