I just switched to a Verizon phone from att. I cannot get verification codes on my iPhone XS now. All other messages are working fine, including from Verizon. Does this have anything to do with porting my old number? How do I fix this? I can’t sign into so many of my apps because of this.

Spgootee,
I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble receiving verification codes! I know how important it is to be able to get those messages, so you can log in and manage your accounts. What is happening when a code is sent? Do you receive an error message, or any kind of indication that the message is not coming through? Are you able to successfully send and receive regular text messages and picture messages?

I am having the same issue...just swicthed from 8 to XR...work phone on GOV Account...on 10/8/19.
Had issues getting phones calls in but the Porting Center fixed those today.
I can get regular text messges but not any 2 factor..or texts from my bank account in ref to account alerts. It seems any texts from a "computer" are not getting through.

I am having the same problems beyond frustrating can't get anyone from Verizon to help have spent hours with their support and hours in store to the point other customers walked out saying they don't want to go thru this fiasco switching carriers.

I am having exactly the same problem and Verizon help keeps telling me my phone is fine when it clearly isn't! I've spent hours on the phone trying to get this port done and now this - I am literally on hold with them right now. 40 minutes I've been on this call so far...I regret ever signing up with Verizon.

Switched from Sprint to Verizon and I'm having the same issue. The other three phones on our account work just fine, but I am not receiving verification codes. I don't have trouble sending or receiving any other texts.

We understand the importance of receiving short codes. Let's get this figured out. Do you have a block for internet messages or any other messaging block? Click here to review the block that is in place. http://spr.ly/6581Dc6Mx

I also switched from ATT as well, cannot get text verification codes from Google/Nest.
I do get them from Verizon and my bank, so thats a relief.
I do get them from other phones, too.

Same problem and I'm getting beyond frustrated. I do not receive any 2-step or verification texts for important services I need access too. There have also been text messages threads with larger groups of people where I no longer receive any of the messages.
I just switched from AT&T to Verizon within the last month and this issue never happened with AT&T, so it doesn't have anything to do with anything being "blocked". I use the same iPhone X that I had with AT&T. It's 100% an issue on Verizon's end, not my phone. Please help.

We want you to be able to get all of your messages, andrewhazy. We are here to help.
Depending on the provider that is sending the messages, they may be MMS messages. These messages require our data service. Have you made sure to turn off Wi-Fi, verify your phone has data with our LTE and then test having the messages sent to your phone?
This is the most common cause to not getting those messages. Please let us know how it goes.

That didn't work for me. I too was on the phone yesterday for hours trying to get this resolved. I even got transferred to Apple to see if it was my phone. Nothing. Support kept telling me that it was just isolated incidents with the providers. Three completely separate providers? I don't believe that. Now that I see there are so many problems with this issue it needs to be resolved. What next?

RandomRanch, we want to make sure that you can receive all of your text messages to your cell phone. Getting verification text messages is always essential. Are you also using the iPhone X/XR/XS? How long has this been going on? Are you using the text message application that came on the phone or a 3rd party application? Please keep me posted. KevinR_VZW

I have prepaid lines on T-Mobile and AT&T. When I send a text with the words “verification code” from AT&T, T-Monile, or Google Voice to my verification phone the message are not delivered. I can receive all other messages as long as “verification code” is not in the text.
This doesn’t happen when sending from a Verizon phone to another Verizon phone, only from other carriers.
Texts with “verification code” can be sent back to those phones but O cannot receive them.
Ho do I remove this block? I gave no blocking or spam restrictions set that I cam find.

The whole reason I'm using my email and not my phone is that my phone is broken. That's why I'm logging in - To switch my phone over.
