Verizon refused to create a transfer pin. I've had this number for 17 years. I switched to the lifeline program.
verified account several times, called, emailed. Refused to give a pin. Now they locked my number.
I reported Verizon to the FCC

I thought that in order to get a transfer PIN you just had to login to your account and look for wherever they keep the "request a transfer PIN" if you're postpaid. If however, you're prepaid, you have to go to a Verizon store and ask an employee to get you a PIN. No idea why, but that was my experience.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
