Try to remove SIM-lock from my iphone 7

I called customer service twice over the past 2 days.  When I check the phone setting, it still says SIM-locked.  They said it'd take 48 to 72 hours.  Does it really take that long?

Thanks for reaching out about the "sim lock".  Do you have an active Verizon account?  Was the phone purchased from Verizon?  Let's get answers for you, with your help.
