I recently purchased and activated an iphone 16 pro from Verizon. My old phone was an iphone 16 from Verizon that I used for 3 months, but it never unlocked after 60 days. Both phones have eSIMs. I want to give my old phone to a friend that needs a phone, but he needs it unlocked. I contacted Verizon customer service 3 times, gave them the IMEI, and they were not willing/able to unlock it. Is this because my old phone is no longer being used? Should I switch the old phone back to being my primary phone temporarily, and then try having them unlock it?
