There was an Amber Alert in my area and it never broadcasted a tone on my iphone 5c and was switched to on. Why?
Thanks for keeping us posted Jayscott68! The Premium Messaging block can prevent the alerts from being received. You can remove the block from My Verizon by http://vz.to/1gi8nNCAshleyS_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
Hi Jayscott68,Oh my! I know it's important to make sure that all alerts are working properly on your device. Is the address on your Verizon Wireless account in the same area as the alert that went out? Amber alerts are triggered by the billing address not the physical location of the device. Please make sure the alerts are set properly on the device as well http://vz.to/1bS1ZNy .Thanks,PamelaF_VZWTweet us @vzwsupport
Yes..in same billing address area
Sent from my iPhone
And my alerts are on.....
Thanks for the reply Jayscott68. Let's look deeper in this issue together. May I ask has the amber alert ever worked on your iPhone 5c? Also, what iOS and carrier version do you have intsalled? This info can be found in Setting > General > About. Can I assume that you are not having any issues with your text or iMessage? As you share the details then we can get this resolved.ArnettH_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
Thanks for getting back to me. Both amber and emergency are set for on and never sounded since had phone , which has been since October. I have Verizon 15.5 and IOS 7.
I am having the same issue. There was an Amber Alert and everyone around me was getting the alert and I did not. My son who is on the same plan got the alert, so our billing address is within the alert area. I have the Samsung Galaxy S4 with Premium Messaging not blocked. The Emergency Alerts are turned on. I am running Android version 4.3. Kernel version 3.4.0.
This is a new phone and I have never received amber alerts.
I hope this works.. I see someone else who replied to my issue is having same issue with their Galaxy S4 and premium unblocked. Makes me think a Verizon issue.
Lets make sure you are receiving these alerts johnnystevens! Here is how to set up the Alerts: http://support.verizonwireless.com/support/devices/knowledge_base.html/62072If the issue persists after setting up, we may need to review the account to ensure that there are no blocks that may prevent these alerts. Let us know how it goes. Thank you,LenaA_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
My Emergency Alerts were already turned on. My Alert Reminder is turned off.
Uh, false.
Wireless Emergency Alerts use the device's physical location to broadcast alerts within a given area.
My home could be in New York, but I'm visiting Chicago. If the Illinois State Police issue an Amber Alert, my phone would receive it.
