iPhone 15 stolen in transit by UPS

A new iPhone 15 for my wife was delivered today (about an hour ago) by UPS from Verizon. At least the box was. The box was suspiciously light and the tape on the outside was a little loose looking. The iPhone box inside was already opened and empty. The delivery guy told me no signature was required, which I did think was odd, but I was in the middle of dealing with an upset kid at the time so I didn't get a good look at him. I did see the UPS truck.

I've already tried contacting Verizon, but support seems to have limited phone hours and I haven't gotten a text back yet. What should I do about this?

I for one would at least file a police report. That way. You have a paper trail. That way, if Verizon asks you. If you have a police report, you can provide them with one and it may help that they may respond to that police report to help you get somebody from Verizon to help you. Hope that helps.
