Payment taken from my bank account without my authorization

On August 20, 2020 I checked my bank account and my bank charged me a NSF charge. I called them and a $177.48 payment and $3.50 billmatrix fee from Verizon tried to post but my account was NSF. I did not authorize any payment. Verizon shows I did not make any payments but they can't tell me what happened. I've been a customer for 27 years for FIOS and wireless and this never happened to me. Has this happened to anyone else.
