@vzw_customer_support, if the OP activates phone #2 on their current line, won't that make your system think they've bailed out on their device deal with phone #1, and cause them to lose their monthly credits? Plus, depending on the details of their arrangement, they might have to immediately pay the rest of the outstanding balance on phone #1?
Since the intention is to continue paying on phone #1, I'd have to think phone #2 would have to use a different number so as not to mess up the deal the OP has for phone #1.
