Balance Due for Canceled Service

Hello! I cancelled my service a day after initiating it because I couldn't port my number in . I was bringing my own phone, so no phone purchased.  Customer service told me to ignore any bill and that it was all taken care of.  However, now I keep receiving emails about a balance due and threatening to report it to the credit agency.  How can I get this resolved?  I can no longer chat with customer service for some reason.
