Bill taxed for two different states

My Verizon mobile line is being taxed for both GA and IL states, even though my bill and lines are all based in GA only.

I had bought this device through a trade in offer in November 2023, and had it shipped to my friends address in IL as I was visiting. The IL tax has been added to my bill ever since.

I tried Verizon chat through the website, but they were clueless and couldn’t help.

Has anyone had the same issue and resolved it?

Hello, Bshowry3. Help is here as you should only have taxes for the state your account shows to be the billing address. Let's get this figured out. I have sent you a Private Message for additional assistance.

I am having the same issue. I have called 3 times and they still haven’t fixed it. I am about ready to switch to AT&T.

Hello, Tezoameyers. We can assist in updating your account to reflect the correct billing state. Which state does it show and which state should it show?

I'm having the same issue. Being charges sales tax in PA and CO. Should be CO only.

A customer service rep will need to have the account reviewed by the taxation department to verify how it should be billed for the applicable taxes.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
