Billing

Hi, I’ve had an issue with billing on my account since I’ve started and I can not get anyone to resolve it so I’m posting here. Yesterday, I also filled an informal complaint with the FTC and FCC for this. In September this year I wanted to switch from Cricket to Verizon. I got the iPhone 15ProMax $0 just included with the $75/ mo Unlimited Welcome Plan for 36 months. So my bill estimate was around $85/mo. Great, ordered my phone. Got said iPhone and went to activate it. I couldn’t activate it due to my Cricket Wireless number not being able to port.

1st issue: Contacted Verizon to get phone activated after going to the store and being told they can’t do anything for online purchases. Okay contacted Verizon was told they can get me a different number to activate it. I spoke with multiple representatives about this as after I had a number to activate the new number because I couldn’t port that there’s now not one but 3 lines listed on my account. And now there’s nothing they can do because I would have to pay the full price up front. No I don’t want that. I got the phone for one phone number. Again, multiple people telling me now that don’t worry about it, it won’t be reflected on your bill. Well I got my 1st bill and not only was I charged for lines I’m not using because I only have one phone. I expected my first bill to be higher as stated with the activation fee but my bill was $152. So I contacted them again, don’t worry it won’t be like that on your next bill.

2nd issue: I received my second bill and not only was it reflected, but my bill was $199. This was because I got multiple lines again, plus an upgraded phone plan I’m now paying for, Verizon Care package, and an activation fee for my phone for the 2nd time. I of course contacted Verizon support again after multiple people I got someone who somewhat understood the issue. She was able to cancel the additional phone line.

But I’m still being charged another partial payment for it with this bill. It’s funny because I couldn’t port that number over  because as of the beginning of November I was STILL paying for the SAME phone number on Cricket Wireless at the same time Verizon had been billing me for it. So after more chatting the agent she gave me a Verizon Loyalty credit and removed the extra bonuses I didn’t want but am still paying partial amount for something I didn’t want or need.

So with all that it brought my bill down to $152. Still almost double the $85 I was expecting for my 2nd bill. It’s due tomorrow but I don’t want to pay twice as much just for it to maybe be applied the next month. It’s very hard to imagine that it will be taken care of because that has not been the case so far since I went with Verizon.

I just want this fixed and to pay for what I signed up for the one phone and one phone line with the $75 unlimited plan. No extra lines and frills. I can barely use the cell service as it is living in a rural area of southern Michigan. I have to use dish WiFi just to have internet so no, I do not need 100gb of hotspot.

I’m not sure how this all went wrong but I’d never order another phone not through the store directly. It’s just an original problem that’s not been resolved since I first brought it up and now it’s compounded in to a major bill and headache. I’m tired of spending hours and having to go to another person. I’ll give the one rep Ava I spoke with some credit because she at least tried to do something to help that none of the other people did.

It may not seem like much to most people but getting a bill that is still double what’s expected after being fixed is a complete nightmare and seems fraudulent to me. I don’t even know what to do at this point to get this finally resolved and taken seriously by Verizon!!
