My husband's phone is on my plan, and we would like to pay separate amounts towards the monthly bill. I am looking for instructions/advice on how set this up. We could both pay at the same time but split the bill.

I don't think the autopay system will accept more than one payment method.

Hello! We have made it easy to separate a line from your account. With Transfer of Service, you'll be able to have a separated account and bill. Check valuable information here:
Please let us know if this information helps.

Uh...well...separating the 2 lines so they are each under a separate account would make it possible for 2 different payment methods to be entered, but wouldn't the OP then lose their multi-line discount, since I presume the 2 lines being under one account currently qualifies them for a multiple line discount and is cheaper?
I guess the answer here is, there's no way to enter 2 different payment methods to be billed equally from for just one account. It doesn't work like Amazon, where you can pay using 2 or maybe 3 different things at once for an order. The OP and spouse will have to either create a new bank account which they both contribute to and use that as the payment method for Verizon, or else one person needs to pick their bank account to use and the other person pays their spouse back each month.

I gather this to be true. It is possible, but sounds like the person to pay part of the bill will lose out on any account member discounts.
I will stick with our current plan. Thank you!

Hey darcieS, I also wanted to offer another option here. While you cannot use two different payments for automatic payment, you can split the payment up into different amounts. I do this with my bill as I have other family members on my account. See the section under "Can I break up my bill into different payment amounts?" section here: https://www.verizon.com/support/pay-bill-faqs/
This allows you to select how much you want to pay, and select the payment type for each payment.
