I just received my bill and went into shock. How was I billed over $600 for a charge I didn’t know about? Tell me this is a mistake.

Your device must have been tied into some agreement where you have to stay with Verizon for 36 months and leaving before then means you have to pay whatever remaining balance is left on the device.

I also received a $600 charge after paying off my phone. I was told I had to wait 30 days to pay off my phone and that I could with no charge, I then switched to AT&T due to service being considerably better where I work. I then called Verizon to confirm I had made my last payment after being disconnected and that was confirmed, and now here we are 2 months later with an overdue $600 charge that I did not know about.
