Device Trade-in Reimbursement FAIL

I STILL HAVE NOT BEEN REIMBURSED for my trade in devices.
I was SPECIFICALLY INSTRUCTED by the local Verizon store manager NOT to pay off my former carrier for the devices and close the account until I received reimbursement from Verizon- which she and the young man employee both assured me would be forthcoming in a timely manner so as to prevent any issues with my credit for being late to make those payments. It has been MONTHS now and I still havenโt received the full amount! My former carrier has now sent me to collections and this has now affected my credit!
WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO TO RESOLVE THIS?!?!
