Dispute and Inquiry about Surcharges

Dear Verizon Wireless Customer Service Team,

 

I am writing to inquire about the surcharges that appear on my monthly bill. I have been a loyal customer of Verizon Wireless for several years now, and I have always appreciated the reliable service that you provide. However, I have noticed that my bill has been increasing lately, and I would like to understand the reason for the surcharges. Attached here are the changes noticed from one of my first bills in 2022 to present time 2024.

 

I would appreciate it if you could provide me with a breakdown of my bill, so that I can see exactly what I am being charged for. Could you also please explain the surcharges that appear on my bill in more detail? Surcharges being Fed Universal Service Charge, Regulatory Charge, and Admin & Telco Recovery Charge. What services do they cover, and how are they calculated? These surcharges are excessive and add up as time goes on. Is there any way that I can opt out of these charges or get credit toward my phone bill?

 

I understand that there may be fees associated with using wireless services, but I want to make sure that I am being charged fairly and transparently. As a customer, I value transparency and honesty, and I trust that Verizon Wireless shares these values.

We want to make sure you get all the help you need with your bill. As a consumer myself, I know how important it is to fully understand your bill and make sure it's as constant as possible. Unfortunately, my husband and i have not closely looked at the details on our bills over several years.  With eletronic billing and the auto pay, we have just assumed everything is in order.  Well, let me tell you I learned my lesson.  I have had so many issues with Verizon Wireless adding on services/packages that I never asked for.  I have spent many hours on the phone in the person at the store to try to fix my bill.  It's extremely important to look at the details on the bills.  I feel like I've been overcharged (they didn't like the other word I used) by Verizon.  Recently, I discovered that one of my lines had surcharges that didn't make sense.  The phone was purchased in NJ, we live and are billed in NJ, but my husband's line is being charged Arizona surcharges of about $1.30/month over several years.  I called Verizon but the rep was not able to find any reason for the surcharges.  Now I have to wait for them to investigate and then come back to me with the reason and a resolution.  I certainly hope it involves a credit for all the money I have given them for no reason.  

BEWARE OF VERIZON and the extra charges they sneak into your bill!!!!

I also have the same issue . NJ and Arizona charges on my bill. What did you do resolve the issue ?

I have the same problem wirh extra surcharges I asked why and got no where. One of my lines has way more then my other 2 and some of the charges look the same , just the abbreviation is different!

I’m experiencing the same issue and honestly, it feels like Verizon is taking advantage of its customers. I’m being charged $4.88 in surcharges, $3.50 for Admin & Telco Recovery, and on top of that, they’ve increased the plan price twice in the last 12 months—roughly an $8 hike overall. I’ve been a loyal Verizon customer for nearly 10 years, and this is how we’re treated. I currently have 8 other lines on my account, and we’re now seriously planning to switch away from Verizon. I’ve had multiple billing issues and find myself calling customer support at least every couple of months just to dispute or understand new charges. This kind of repeated inconvenience and lack of consideration for long-term customers needs to stop. People aren’t going to continue supporting service providers that operate like this.

I've been a loyal Verizon customer for over 8 years and now I'm also experiencing increased prices on things like monthly surcharges and adjustments.

I have been a Verizon customer for over 10 years. I’m finding out I’m having the exact same issue. This is so unexpected and I feel taken advantage of. What are these extra charges? Why are they more than the taxes? Why should I have to pay for them if I’m loyal?

Why do you choose to increase them individually vs. one time a year. I am over looking at my bill and seeing it increase every month. Nickeling and dining us to death is bad business. I have been with you 20+ years and have never been more disappointed then currently.
