Dispute and Inquiry about Surcharges

Dear Verizon Wireless Customer Service Team,

 

I am writing to inquire about the surcharges that appear on my monthly bill. I have been a loyal customer of Verizon Wireless for several years now, and I have always appreciated the reliable service that you provide. However, I have noticed that my bill has been increasing lately, and I would like to understand the reason for the surcharges. Attached here are the changes noticed from one of my first bills in 2022 to present time 2024.

 

I would appreciate it if you could provide me with a breakdown of my bill, so that I can see exactly what I am being charged for. Could you also please explain the surcharges that appear on my bill in more detail? Surcharges being Fed Universal Service Charge, Regulatory Charge, and Admin & Telco Recovery Charge. What services do they cover, and how are they calculated? These surcharges are excessive and add up as time goes on. Is there any way that I can opt out of these charges or get credit toward my phone bill?

 

I understand that there may be fees associated with using wireless services, but I want to make sure that I am being charged fairly and transparently. As a customer, I value transparency and honesty, and I trust that Verizon Wireless shares these values.

We want to make sure you get all the help you need with your bill. As a consumer myself, I know how important it is to fully understand your bill and make sure it's as constant as possible. There isn't a way to opt out of surcharges, and we do have an FAQ here: https://www.verizon.com/support/surcharges/ It goes into more detail and helps explain why those surcharges and fees are there.

Unfortunately, my husband and i have not closely looked at the details on our bills over several years.  With eletronic billing and the auto pay, we have just assumed everything is in order.  Well, let me tell you I learned my lesson.  I have had so many issues with Verizon Wireless adding on services/packages that I never asked for.  I have spent many hours on the phone in the person at the store to try to fix my bill.  It's extremely important to look at the details on the bills.  I feel like I've been overcharged (they didn't like the other word I used) by Verizon.  Recently, I discovered that one of my lines had surcharges that didn't make sense.  The phone was purchased in NJ, we live and are billed in NJ, but my husband's line is being charged Arizona surcharges of about $1.30/month over several years.  I called Verizon but the rep was not able to find any reason for the surcharges.  Now I have to wait for them to investigate and then come back to me with the reason and a resolution.  I certainly hope it involves a credit for all the money I have given them for no reason.  

BEWARE OF VERIZON and the extra charges they sneak into your bill!!!!

I also have the same issue . NJ and Arizona charges on my bill. What did you do resolve the issue ?
