Double State Tax

I was looking at my bill recently, and realized that we've been charged tax for both Washington and Arizona states for the past 4.5 years 😳 For our 4 family lines, that comes to $663.12 that Verizon has overcharged us. Eek! I've been on the phone with Verizon reps multiple times over the past week for other issues, wasting hours of my life with no resolution, so I am really hesitant to try and get this resolved over the phone with a rep that won't likely have any knowledge of why this is or how to fix it. I see others have reported this same issue here, so I'm just wondering if anyone has an email contact for someone at Verizon that I can reach out to? And has anyone been successful in getting a refund for these overcharges?

We're sorry to hear about your lines being charges taxes from two states at once! We want to make sure we're providing you with the correct reason for why this can happen.
Based on my experience, this is caused when a phone is purchased in a state where taxes on the phone aren't paid off at the time of purchase, but are instead billed on your bill. If the place where those devices were purchased, and the address on your account is different, that will cause you to be charged the taxes from both states, although you're only paying the taxes on the device in one of those instances.
In this case, Arizona is a state where taxes aren't paid on the phone at the point of purchase. Other states are AL, CO, IL, NM, ND and SD.

Thank you for this response. I understand why would pay Arizona taxes, but we do not live in Washington. Why would we be charged sales tax for Washington when we haven't lived there for 4 1/2 years?
