Eligibility for the $10 discount

So I recently spoke to a representative with Verizon that helped me connect my benefits on my current plan for Internet and mobile and she told me that if I switch my payment method to my time debit card instead of using my time credit builder card I would be able to receive a $10 discount on both my mobile and my internet, however after I got through doing that the auto pay message told me that my card was not eligible for that $10 discount and I would like to find out why or what it is I did wrong when enrolling my card for auto pay and paperless billing.

Don't quote me, but if your debit card isn't directly hooked up to a checking or savings bank account, then it doesn't qualify for the autopay discount. At least one of Verizon's competitors is the same way, where if you use a credit card for autopay, they won't give you the discount. It has to do with the credit card companies taking a cut of the money when your card is used.
