Hello,
I am filling complaints to the Federal Trade Commission and the California Department of Consumer Affairs and I was hoping to file a formal complaint with Verizon corporation as well. I can't find a link to file a complaint with Verizon just a chat link or call. I want this complaint in writing and return receipt. Does anyone know how to do this? Verizon mistakenly placed a credit on my account and my bill was paid through automatic payment based on the bill that was submitted to me. Weeks later they discovered the mistake and now are demanding payment. This was not my error and my bill was paid on time based on the amount they said was due. I have been a loyal customer for over five years and have never made a payment late and now am facing having to leave Verizon completely over their mistake. I believe they are engaging in unfair billing practices and am wanting to file complaints with everyone I can to make sure they don't get to do this to other customers. In todays economy everyone is on a tight budget and a billing mistake can really impact the customer. I have spent the last week talking to Verizon and trying to get them to correct this. Today I was basically told that, yes it was their mistake but no they will not be taking off the past due amount and if I can't pay that, my service will be shut off. I am left with the option of no food this week or keep my phone on. My other option is to leave Verizon for another carrier but I won't be able to take my number as I still owe on my phone. I am beyond upset. Losing my number right now (I am looking for employment) provides an additional hearship for my family as all of my job seeking is linked to my current number. I get that Verizon is a big company and really don't care about one customer but this is just crazy to me. I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.
