Free phone and payoff current phone

I got a call thanking me more my loyalty and offering free phone. Was also told Verizon would pay up to $350 to pay off my current phone. I made an appointment I was told they would check to see if I was eligible for the $350. There was no qualification mentioned on the call. They said they would double check and call me back. Still waiting for call

If it was a Verizon store employee who called you, I'd call that store back to ask about the promotion. Otherwise, you can try live chat while logged into your My Verizon account (type "live agent" to get a real person) and they can look at your account to see if there is such a promotion available. Otherwise, I'm worried the call wasn't legitimate, as it is a common ploy for con artists to impersonate a well-known business.
